We desire all the old contributors to the Puz
zle Parlor to renew their interest in it, as we
6hall give it new life in future. The late pro
position to place it under the charge ot a young
man in Charleston, proved to be quite a blun
der, as he was neither competent nor reliable.
We regret it very much, and will conduct it
ourselves in future, und hope to restore it to
its former popularity. Let us hear from al^
who are fond of solving puzzles and conun
drums, or anything in that line; and let every
one who can get up anything smart or sharp
for the “Puzzle Parlor” qo so at once, and send
it in to us.

In our style of climate, with its sadden changes of tem
perature,—rain, wiud and sunshine often intermingled
in a single day,—it is no wonder that our children, friends
and relatives are so frequently taken flora us by neglect
ed colds, half the deaths resulting directly from this
cause. A bottle of Boschee’s xSerman Syrup kept about
your home for immediate use will prevent serious sick
ness, a large doctor's bill, and perhaps death, by the use
of three or four doses. For curing Consumption, Hemor
rhages, Pneumonia Severe Coughs, Croup or any disease
of the Throat or Ltu gs. its success is simply wonderful,
as your druggist will tell you. German Syrup is now sold
