T. KINGSFORD V SON’S
PURE OSWEGO STARCH, FOR THE LAUNDRY,
TTAH established a greater celebrity than has ever been ob-
XX tained by any other Starch.
This has been the result of its marked superiority in quality,
and its invariable uniformity.
The public may be assured of the continuance of the high
standard now established.
The production is over Twenty Tons dailv. and the demand
has extended throughout the whole of the United States, and
to foreign countries.
Working thus on a very large scale, and under a rigid system,
they are able to secure a perfect uniformity in the quality
throughout the year. This is the great desideratum in starch
making, and is realised now for the first time.
The very best Starch that can be made, and no other, is al
ways wanted by consumers, and this will be supplied to them
by the grocers, as soon as their customers have learned which
is the best, and ask for it—otherwise they would be likely to
get that article on which the largest profit can be made.
Mr. Kingsford has been engaged in the manufacture of Starch
continuously for the last twenty-seven years, and during the
whole of the period, the Starch made under his supervision has
been, beyond any question, the best in the market. For the
first seventeen years, he had charge of the works of William
Colgate & Co., at which period he invented the process of the
manufacture of Corn Starch.
S3f“ Ask for Kingaford’s Starch, as the name Oswego has
been recently taken by another factory.
It is sold by all of the best grocers in nearly every part of the
country.
T. KINGSFORD & SON’S
H OSWEGO CORN STARCH, FOR PUDDINGS, Ac.
AS obtained an equal celebrity with their Starch for the
Laundry. This article is perfectly pure, and is, in every
reppect, equal to the best Bermuda Arrow. Root, besides having
additional qualities, which render it invaluable for the dessert.
Potato Starch has been extensively packed and sold as Com
Starch, and has given false impressions to many, as to the real
merits of our Com Starch.
From it« great delicacy and purity, it is coming also into ex
tensive use as a diet for infants and Invalids.

RHEUMATISM CURED.
JOYFUL NEWS TO RHEUMATIC SUFFERERS.
Oil the amount of suffering that has beefl endured, and the
thousands of deaths that lave occurred for the want of a
proper and tiiuely remedy for this dreadful disease which us
invariably found in
LINCITS ANTI-RHEUMATIC POWDERS,
the only sure and radical cure yet discovered. See circular and
the folio wing
CERTIFICATES:
1 do hereby certify, that after suffering for thirty-three years,
with the most excruciating pain from Chronic Rheumatism,
and finding uo permanent relief from any of the many pre-
This cure was cffected by a preparation styled Linch’a Anti-
Rheumatic Powders. Or theee Powders I took two dozen, and
have not had any symptoms of my old pains for three years.
The effect upon me was like magic. Within three days after
f had taken the first powder, my pains disappeared, and I have
been entirely Hear of them up to the present time.
To all Buffering from Rheumatism I do heartily recommend
these powders; confidently believing that you have only to
give them a trial to secure a lasting cure. Most respectfully,
Eatonton, April 22,1855. JOHN LINCH.
I have no hesitation In saying, that after having suffered for
upwards of thirty years of Rheumatism in the most dreadful
form—first in my toes, then in my thumbs, wrists and knees,
and lastly, most excruciatingly, in my neck, I took two Or three
dozen of Linch’s Anti-Rheumatic Powder?, and notwithstand
ing 1 am old and my constitution much shattered., 1 have re
ceived the greatest benefit from them Imaginable; my relief
from suffering and pain, 1 cannot attribute to anything but the
Powders, for I have tried everything in vafn, that friends could
suggest or physicians prescribe. I would therefore earnestly
recommend them to every sufferer of this dreaded disease, let
him be old or young, Yours, respectfully.
Eatonton, April 2, IStt. ROBERT MYRICK.
I am happy to state, for the benefit of those who are afflicted
with Rheumatism, that a perfect cure, has been effected in the
person of a negro man or mine, by LinchV Anti-Rheumatic
Powders. Ihe said boy having suffered with it Incessantly for
twenty years, lost at least one-third of his time until he took
the above powders. Since which time, now nearly two years,
Jie has been a valuable and constant field hand, never having
suffered with Rheumatism since, to the best of my knowledge,
and l take pleasure in recommending them to all thus afflicted.
April 10, 1860. MILDRED L. COLLINGSWORTH.
I can safely testify to the cfficacv of Linch's Anti-Rheumatic
Powders, having been entirely cured of the Rheumatism by one
box, some three years since, after having been severely afflicted
with it for seven previous years. LACY MILLIKONiC
February 5,1857.
„ }Y e i tl,e citizens of Putnam county, Ga., cheer
fully bear testimony to the efficacy of Linch's Anti-Rheumatic
powders in the treatment of acute or chronic Rheumatism:
many cases having been successfully treated by Dr. J. G. Gib
son, within our personal knowledge In which these Powders
were used exclusively.

Sailing down the crowded street,
Scraping every one they meet.
With a rushing whirlwind sound.
Muffled belles around abound.
Hoop! hoop! hoop !
What a vast, expansive swoop!
Hoops of whalebone, short and crisp.
Hoops of wire, thin as a wisp;
Hoops of brass, thirteen yards long
Hoops of steel confirmed and strong *
Hoops of rubber, soft and slick, *
Hoops of ropiDg, bungling thick;
Hoops of lampwick, cord, and leather
Hoops that languish in wet weather;
Hoops that spread out silken skirts.
Hanging of from silly flirts,
-Sweeping off the public lands,
Turning over apple-stands;
Felling children to the ground.
As they flaunt and whirl around.
Hoop! hoop! hoop!
What a vast, expansive swoop!
Jolly hoops, that wriggle round,
Sober hoops, that sway profound ;
Springy hoops, that shake and wag.
Broken hoope, that droop and drag ;
Monster hoops, all overgrown,
Junior hoops, of smaller bone ;
Hoops that ravish lover's eyes,
Hoops that rend their breasts with siee;
Hoops that shock their feeble legs :
Like a crowd of giant kegs.
What gallant ships ! what swelling sail*-!
How they resist opposing gales!
With what a full, relentless waft.
They overwhelm each smaller craft!
