brought into requisition, aud the morning proved
that the work was not thrown aw iy. Irish po

slightly nippst -not severely enough to affect
the stem—and are not materially injured.
Early risers aay the groan 1 wis crested
over in damp places, and at a mill some five
miles from the city, there was said to have been
ice nearly an inch in tbicKuesr.
On Monday evening wo had the same oohl
blast, and the usual precautions were taken
against frost; but the wind was etdl hy I0
o’clock, and Tituliy mor ring was warm and
pleasant. A glorious shower Tuesday evening,
gave the vegetables anew vigor, and our gar
dens arc in a most promising condition.

having made our grievance -and our

Rswloed, That in oar own behalf, and
in behalf of the ninety-eight thousand
colored voters, and the five hundred
thousand colored citizens in Georgia,

patluzed with and aided us in our effoits
to defeat this tneusuie, which, however
intended, is only an engine of rebel
power, and conveys words of despair
to the loyal men of Georgia, aud words
of cheat lo the disloyal.
