THE STORY TOLD.
At Georgetown. Ivy., in the
spring of 1848, when 1 was hut
eighteen years of age, I first met
the lady who for more than thir
ty-four years lias been my wife.
Our acquaintance resulted, at the
end of six months, in an engage
menl which, without the prospect
of speedy marriage, w e naturally
sought to keep to ourselves. Two
years later, in the spring of 1850,
