A (iratelul MLer,
My little liny when only two
years old had what was said to
be a stroke of paralysis, affecting
his right limb, anil for many
months he coulil not walk. His
health became exceedingly feeble.
>’o one dreamed he would ever
recover from his misfortune, ami
hope had left my own heart of ever
rearing him to manhood. Final
ly he commenced to use his limbs
a little, but the ankle joint bad

Amid the ruins of their capital,
with bare, bowed heads, in utter
silence and bitter tears, Lee and
ins generals separated and went
their several ways to homes de
stroyed, families broken up and
scattered, and often into exile and
oblivion.
The final parting was in front
of Lee's mansion in Richmond,
two days after Appomatox. Lee's

that anguish w hich only a mothci of the second day after the stir

the aid of a steel ankle brace he
was enabled to get around the

surprised to see coiuo riding up
the street from the south a com

I’liey were unarmed. Their gray
uniforms were worn, soiled, amt
often tattered, their trappings old

feather remaining of the once
what a widowed mother s affection . smart and jaunty drooping plume

kindness I secured several bottles.
I commenced to give it to my
child about tile first of last Jul\

like a charm upon his system.
After taking the second bottle
his complexion cleared up and
strength began to increase. Hr
threw away his braces several
months ago, and now walks belter
than he ever did with it. The
ankle joint has regained its
strength and the foot its proper
position, and the large lump on
the ankle, caused by friction and
unnatural use, has disappeared.
He is now in his sixth year; hi-

lively as any child of his age. He

One day a golden haired child,
who lived where no trees or flow

through the open gate of a beau
