Or maybe, you have a favorite joke you’d like to tell. - If you would like to chit-chat let your fingers do the walking, give R.L. a call at 722-4555. ****** Saw VICKIE PRUITT at the Municipal building and asked if her sweetie remembered her Valentine’s Day? She said, “yes, he did, he gave me 6 long stem roses. I got home from work and they were on my front porch. I really thought that was sweet. ****** Guess what? The big WAUG has an all-out, News one woman gang. She is Mrs. Jean Downey, she is pretty, and she is everywhere. ****** Mrs. PEGGY HAYNES of 4371 Saxon Drive in Hephzibah, says the snow of two weeks ago brought people together. The snow prevented her from going to work so she and her little one were in the front yard making a snowman when her neighbor also came out and they met for the first time. Peggy said she spent two and a half years in Germany, but she never saw as much snow at one time, as here in Augusta. ****** Say, How’s about a Let’s Get Well for LINDA PRUITT? “GET WELL SOON LINDA.” ***** I was at Kress’ Lunch Counter last Friday (Feb. 16) and guess who I saw? LINDA HOLMAN and a couple of Sister Austin Radio Choir. While there I also saw a friend not seen in about four year, MARY MOORE. Mary says that good looking addition to the A.P.D. is officer James Moore, her better half. Hi James. ***** 1 had a chit-chat in front of the Six Shooter with NORMAN SIMOWITZ, chairman, County Commission. ***** Former City Councilman GRADY ABRAMS is now plying his Journalistic talents with a local Tabuloid. Cy says the Freedom Fighters of “76” were not called Terrorist. ****** Here is an item all the way from Cocoa, Florida. “Mr. Garence Cisrow (Suscriber to News-Review) called his executive son Curtis and spoke of how informative the News-Review is. Mr. Cisrow says a paper of this kind should be distributed all across the country . He parallels us to the Pittsburgh Courier. Adding further, he stated a paper of this magnitude should be done Bi-Weekly. ****** vC. 1 It looks like my next featured interview will be with **«**] JOE SCOTT, so keep an eye open for it. ****** STINER (JESSE) STURGIS said he is doing fine and still reading news from the News taker, the News-Review. ****** Met LOIS STALLINGS, P.F.C., W.A.C., a pretty midget stationed at Fort Gordon. Jones of 2758 Royal Street has been bound over to Superior Court to stand trial for one charge of rape, and two charges of armed robbery. One of these assaults has led to the senseless killing of a crippled 78-year-old grandmother and the unmerciful beating of her “grandson. Serviceman Joseph D. Byrne was shotgunned in the October 29 armed robbery at the Holiday Inn (according to reports, Mr. Byrne has been in intensive care at a local hospital ever since.) However, no one condones injustice with sanity either and some of the contradictions, unsurety, and memory lapses at the Jones hearing do not imply fairness. Certainly extenuating circumstances are prevalant in the particular case that certainly need clearing up. This is not to say Gary L. Jones is innocent or guilty, that’s for the courts to decide. My contention centers around an identification by two witnesses who invariably claim their attacker had no beard or moustache. Jones has both moustache and goatee of a growth impossibe to acquire in the nine days of the alleged assault and time of the hearing. Mrs. Thompson Honored The Georgia Visiting Teachers Association of the 10th District held a luncheon meeting recently in Monroe,at which time Mrs. Ora C. Thompson was one of the three retiring Visiting Teachers who received a plaque and words of appreciation. Mrs. Thompson served as visiting teacher in Richmond County for 23 years and retired last June. Mrs. Betty Scott is her successor. 808 PARKER MOTORS 2709 Old Savannah Road 798-0447 72 Grand Torino Sports 2995 70 Buick Riviera 2995 70 Pontiac Catalina 2195 70 Chevrolet Nova 1595 70 Cadillac Coupe 3995 69 Road Runner 1595 25 Other Cars To Choose From HIGHWAY 56 Just Qean Used Cars y our Cbu rs REVIVAL AT TABERNACLE pe r f orm during Revival Weel The Tabernacle Baptist Church will hold its annual revival February 25 - March 2.
