MRS. ARTHUR D. SIMS,
will be guest speaker at the
Annual Men and Women’s Day
Program at the Pierce Grove
Baptist Church, Martinez,
Georgia,, Sunday, June 24,
1973 at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Sims is a graduate of
Paine College, and is currently
employed by the Richmond
County Board of Education.
She is a member of the
Professional Teachers’
Organization, the NAACP,
SCLC, and a member of the
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church
where she directs the Anthem
Choir.
Other interesting persons are
to appear on this program. The
public is invited.

Mrs. L.R. (Sadie Mae) Neal,
of 2710 Hazel St., died
Monday in a local hospital,
z Funeral servi es will 5
held Friday at Trinity C.M.E.
Church. Rev. J.E. Robinson
will deliver the enlogy.
She was a native of
Columbus, and a member of
the Trinity C.M.E. Church,
where she served on many
boards.
Survivors include her
husband; one daughter, Robin
Neal; one son, Bobby Neal; and
two sisters, Mrs. Manor Gibson,
New York, and Mrs. Vivian
Lewis, Augusta.

for the Neelys during this
year’s graduation exercises.
Lourdes Neely Coleman
received the Bachelor of
Science degree in Political
Science from Suffork
University, Boston, Mass,
where she was cited in Who’s
Who Among College students.
Derrick Neely the big
guarter-back for Lucy Laney
was graduated June 5. He also
was cited in Who’s Who Among
High School students.
The father, Clement Neely,
was a member of the first
graduating class of Augusta

Annual Women’s Day on
Sunday, June 24, 1973 at 3:00
p.m.
Guest speaker for the
occasion will be Mrs. Juanita B.
Hunt of Augusta, Georgia. Mrs.
Hunt is a graduate of the
Academy of Richmond
County. She attended Augusta
College and recently earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in
Medical Record Administration
from the Medical College of
Georgia.
She is the wife of Mr.
Eugene Hunt, they have a son,
Brian. She is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Burney.

Sorority reports that the
Chapter has made tremendous
progress in the area of
sorority-community projects
and programs during the past
year.
Projects of special interest
sponsored by the sorority
members included maintaining
a clothing store, hosting
twenty-five boys from the
Youth Development Center at

Opportunities Industrialization
Center where he received a
certificate for completion of
the Supermarket
Cashier-Checker Course.
Derrick plans to attend
South Carolina State College
where he has received an
athletic scholarship.
Lourdes is a law student at
the University of Kansas.
Clement is employed at the
V.A. Hospital here in Augusta.
