Deltas Plan
For Largest Convention In History
Delta Sigma Theta, a national
public service sorority made up
mostly of Black women, is
preparing for the biggest
national convention in Atlanta
on August 12-17, in its 60-year
history.
A record number of Deltas -
more than 5,000 at the last
count - already has registered to
attend the sorority’s 32nd
biennial convention, to be held
at Atlanta’s Hyatt Regency
Hotel. This is almost double the
number of Deltas who were
present at the 1971 convention
in Houston.
Mrs. Lillian P. Benbow of
Detroit, Delta national
president, attributed the
increase in convention
participation to a steady
increase in Delta membership,

MR. & MRS. HOME OWNER
Do you employ a cook, cleaning woman or other
domestic worker in your home for one Or more
days per week? If so, you are paying them more
than fifty dollars per quarter in wages, and you
should be withholding and paying Social Security
contributions for them. Your failure to do this
denies your employee his right to receive Social
Security benefits for themselves and then
dependents in later years. We urge you to obey the
law and help us to improve human relations in the
