The S 1,500 award, donated by Pepsi-Cola Company, will be presented to Brewton in the Orange Bowl during the pre-game ceremonies at the 40th renewal of the Orange Blossom Football Classic between FAMU and the “Bulldogs” of South Carolina State College, December 8. A 19 year old freshman, Brewton is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Willie Brewton, Sr. of Ocala, Florida. He is majoring in physical education at FAMU. According to Head Coach Jim Williams and Defensive Coach Pete Griffin, Brewton has great potential for becoming an outstanding football player and student. “His character is reminiscent of the legendary' Galimore,” said Coach Williams. The memorial Award was established by Pepsi-Cola Company and the FAMU in honor of Willie Galimore, the late “Rattler hero and great Chicago Bears’ running back.
