JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM
“About this time Caesar Augustus, the Roman
Emperor, decreed that a census should be taken
throughout the nation. (This census was taken
when Quirinius was governor of Syria.)
Everyone was required to return to his ancestral
home for this registration. And because Joseph
was a member of the royal line, he had to go to
Bethlehem in Judea, King David’s ancient home
journeying there from the Galilean village of Naza
reth. He took with him Mary, his fiancfce, who was
obviously pregnant by this time.
And while they were there, the time came for
her baby to be born, and she gave birth to her first
child, a son. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid
him in a manger, because there was no room for
them in the village inn.” (Luke 2:1-7)

Today // A
—————- For The Remainder of the Month:
ARIES (March 21 - April 20) - Be sure to treat an in-law well, be
very generous with all visitors and provide well in entertaining.
Avoid having too big ideas about social life or giving a party with
too much grandeur; you could be tempted too much to do what a
wealthy older relative does this time of year.
TAURUS (April 21 - May 20) - Enterain someone for the
holidays even if you feel dubious about the person. Show warm
friendliness to someone you formerly were romantically attached
to. Make your Christmas inclusive rather than exclusive.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 21) - Be certain to visit an elderly friend
with some special gift, preferably something you have made. Take
such a friend out to dinner and a show, be very attentive. A
younger person may be generous and share Christmas dinner and
day with you. Find a unique way to show appreciation.
CANCER (June 22 - July 22) - A good time is here to buy a car, a
new home, to move your residence, and to celebrate all special
days connected with cycle. You may return to work somewhat
weary but gratified with the way this period has gone for you.
Family relationships are improved much.
LEO (July 23 - August 23) - A very busy time when a house guest
can be helpful and you must not resent this person’s presence for
the big season. If married and your lifemate is difficulat about an
in-law question, try to find away to skirt the issue. Avoid
showing nervous irritation with older people; be at your most
charming with all now.
VIRGO (August 24 - September 22) - Be generous with family,
children, all in-laws and realties. Make the dinner at your home
is possible and have plenty running over. After the big day, rest
and enjoy companionship, light entertainment on all evenings
except the last of the year.
LIBRA (September 23 - October 22) - Look your best for these
days, be up to date and enjoy the impression you make. If pursuit
of pleasure is not just what you want, keep quiet about it for you
will be more healthy under present trends which are mapped out
by another. Be wary of celebrating too much at year’s end.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 22) - You may become
engaged before the year is over. The season has something to do
with this; be warmly affectionate and that will do the rest. You
may win a victory no one else could have won where love is
concerned.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23 - December 21) - You may get
some publicity which is pleasing.Old Friends may visit briefly and
you can be happy in a place where you formerly lived for quite
awhile. The whole season has a bit of mystery in its atmosphere
and you do not quite know whether to be sad or happy about
this aura.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 20) - A romantic concern
may worry you and can make the holidays a troublesome time.
You can be emotionally tom, wonder if you are wrong and
perhaps reverse your attitude. It is good to make another happy
and it is bad to let the same person down. See that year’s end is
unselfish.
AQUARIUS (January 21 - February 19) - There can be a slight
let-down of emotional type for you and this is mainly due to a
physical weariness. Keep smiling and make the days bright for
those who depend on you but do get as much rest as you can
now.
PISCES (February 20 - March 20) - You may make an error by
taking a trip which will bring silent unhappiness to one who loves
you and has done much for you just now. However, you can see
things only your way just now and all will be overlooked soon.
The better the insulation,
the less your heating costs.
6" insulation in attic
3" insulation in walls and floors
3-ton heat pump
Season’s heating sl23*
Insulation makes a difference in heating (and cool
ing) bills. A house without any insulation can take
up to twice as much electricity—or any other fuel
to heat or cool. Proper insulation also reduces the
size and cost of heating/cooling equipment needed.
If the home above had just two inches of attic
insulation, it would require a 5-ton heat pump, and
a season's heating costs would be S2osf
As a barrier to the flow of heat, insulation keeps
the heat in during winter and out during summer.
So even without air conditioning, it helps keep your
house cooler in summer.
Insulation comes in rolls, batts or loose-fill. A
six-inch thickness is recommended in the ceiling,
three inches in walls and floors. To be more exact,
insulation is labeled with an R value showing its
ability to resist heat. The better its insulating value,
the higher the number. Recommended R values are
R-19 for ceilings and R-ll for walls and floors.
Unless you're building, installing insulation can
be a little tricky. But it can be added tc your attic
and basement. An insulating contractor or supplier
can advise you on making improvements.
With proper insulation, you should see impor
tant savings on heating (and cooling) bills. At the
same time, you’ll help conserve energy resources.
And that’s important, too.
•Based on average family with electric heat pump in 1500-square
foot home. Thermostat set at 68° as recommended for energy
conservation.
