The Aged
“I like old people. They
have feelings too. Just because
they’re older doesn’t make
them any different.” This is a
statement made by a member
of the Tutt Junior High
Chapter of Future
Homemakers of America.
This FHA Chapter chose a
nursing home, Marioni
Convalescent Home, in their
community to work with
during the year. Twice a month
girls visit the nursing home and
visit the patients. Just to sit
and talk to a patient a few
minutes or even a smile helps
to brighten their day. On the
student’s visit to the nursing
home, they do jobs for the
patients, such as writing letters
or sewing on buttons.
Thanksgiving and Christmas
have been two occasions that
the Tutt FHA Chapter has
tried to make a little speical at
the nursing home. At
Thanksgiving the chapter

I Pen I
The annual women’s
bowling tournaments are here
once again. Deadline for the
Augusta Women's Annual City
Tournament was January 19,
1975. I certainly hope there
are more entries from the
Black community than has
been in the past.
There is an overall opinion
that in order to enter a
tournament one has to be an
extraordinary' bowler. This is
not necessarily so. In a
handicap tournament the
average bowler has just as good
a chance of winning as does a
high bowler, and in some cases
a better chance. The handicaps
allows the low bowler to enter
on the same level with chances
of bowling a high game and
maintaining one’s handicap.
However, the high bowling
with a low handicap cannot
afford to have a bad day; the
pressure is on the high bowler.
We have some fantastic
Black women bowlers in this
city. You can visit any of the
lanes on any night of the week
and witness some really superb
performances.
For you bowling enthusiasts,
the deadline for entry in the
Women’s State bowling
tournament was January, 22,

Entry fees rarely exceed
