Do you think that Blacks
will be hired at Bush Field as
James Brown has demanded? If
not, will you support him?
Delores Williams

I certainly don’t think that
it is fair not to have Blacks
working at the Airport. Yes, I
think that they will hire some
in 30 days and if they don’t
then we should protest or
support James Brown in
whatever he does.

No, I don’t think they will
hire any Blacks because of
James Brown’s threats. Because
if 1 had a business of my own
and a qualified person came

out and I needed help, 1 would
give them a job regardless of
race but I would not do this if
I was threatened. I would like
to ask James Brown a question
- If a white wants to join his
band, would a threat cause him
to hire this man?

I think that if a Black is
qualified and applies for a job
there, he will be hired, not
necessarily in 30 days because
he has to be trained although
he is qualified.

I am doubtful about them
hiring Blacks at the airport in
30 days, maybe in 90 days but
then they won’t make the same
as whites. I think that if they
are qualified they might be
hired.
Al Kennedy

Yes, because of Brown’s
influence, Finally, if they don’t
hire then I will support
whatever James Brown does to
correct the situation.

From all the other sources
of information that I have
concerning the whole subject,
past employment practices and
so forth, I would think that
they would not hire a Black in
30 days.
However, I will avail my
support to any constructive
effort to eradicate this unfair
employment practice on the
basis of various other air
terminals.
