Millsaps, Jr. celebrated their
twenty-fifth wedding
anniversary. Saturday evening,
Mrs. H.L. Thompson in her
home at 1008 Bth Ave.
Mrs. Thompson was a
Dec. 27, at their residence.
The occasion was celebrated
with a group of the couple’s
relatives, and well-wishers,
along with many members of
the same bridal party of 25
years ago - Les Mademoiselles
Business and Professional Club
members.
A double ring ceremony,
along with renewal of
matrimonial vows, was
performed by Dr. C.S.
Hamilton. Mrs. Emma L.
Starks sang the same solo “I
Love You Truly,” that she so
beautifully rendered 25 years
ago and Mrs. Helen Johnson,
Les Mademoiselles Club
member, dedicated a poem
“What is Happiness” to the
couple.
Immediately following the
vows, Rev. T.H. Fisher and
Rev. M.E. Braxton gave their
blessings for continued love
and happiness for the couple’s
future.
An anniversary buffet dinner
was enjoyed by all guests at the
conclusion of the ceremony.

Clark and the late Mrs. Endie
Clark, and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Dan Way.
McCauley is a graduate of
Knoxville College. He is the
grandson of the late Rev. and
Mrs. Johnny McCauley, and
the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Williams.

is employed as house directress
at Paine College.

Gives Children’s Party

CHILDREN WITH SANTA CLAUS
The Women’s Civic Club
gave its annual Christmas party
for approximately 50 needy
children Dec. 20. The party
was held in the Pilgrim Civic
Room.
Mrs. Leo McNatt and Mrs.
Christine Gardner played
games and sang carols with the
children while the other
committee members prepared
refreshments of fruit, nuts,
candy, ice cream and cookies.
The highlight of the party
was the presence of Santa
Gaus who talked with all the
children and gave each one a
gift from under the Christmas
tree.
Mrs. W.A. Sanders was party
chairman. Others helping were:

club president.
Twenty-five guests including
their close relatives and friends
attended the celebration.
Mrs. Sarah Washington
served as host along with Mrs.
Parks’ granddaughters Mrs. Gail
Lee Tarver and Miss Crystal
