“Valiant Women” in the life of
our nation-the memory of
those who left their mark, the
presence of dedicated women
in our midst today and the
certainty that there will be
more to follow.
The worship service
dramatizes the “Valiant
Women” of American history
who, out of their deep religious
convictions, spoke and acted
on behalf of the human rights
of others.
Special tribute will be paid
to women like Anns
Hutchinson, Abigail Adams
and Sojourner Truth whose
concept of justice illumined
their loves as they led
movements for the abolition of
slavery and equal rights for all
people. The Message during the
service will highlight the “The
Valliant Women of this
community” who have created
day care centers, community
health services, rehabilitation
programs and numerous other
human services, and lifted up
vital issues as the struggle for
human justice goes on.
This Bicentennial program
emphasis of Church Women
United will eventuate in a
series of “planks” proposed by
local units across the nation,
which will later be formulated
for appropriate presentation to
the President of the U.S.A,
after January 1977.
Reservations must be made
by May 4. Please call Ms.
Louise Laney, 722-6038.
