own, Jesse Grear.
Brown defeated Grear 3 and
2. His heroics consisted of
birdies on the 12th and 14th
holes. The most impressive
hole played by the cross -
handed champ could very well
have been, ironically, the 13th
where he made bogey six after
driving two consecutive tee
shots out of bounds. His third
drive from the tee landed on
the fringe. From there he

chipped in about a 25 foot
shot. Immediately, he
exclaimed, “Time and time
again, I’ve told you to never
give up on a golf course.”
As if he felt that he hadn’t
made his point, he moved to
the 14th tee and cracked a tee
shot to the fringe of the 14th
green - some 35 feet from the
green. When his putting turn
caem, he calmly sank the putt
for a birdie and took a two
shot lead You guessed it.
Brown reiterated his point.
“Don’t ever give up on a golf
course.”
From the 15th on, the man
with all the shots was in
command of Grear who had a
very steady and impressive
game. His 75 would normally
be enough to take care of most
who play tire Municipal track,
but the talented Brown,
playing cool and calm, was just
too much. He approached each
shot with the ultimate
confidence and composure.
Upon receiving his first place

awards for both match and
medal play, Brown announced
his plans to move golf play
away to bigger and better
things, starting with a
tournament in Cleveland, Ohio,
soon. Nobody aroung the
patch Sunday seemed to know
anything at all about the
layout in Cleveland, Ohio.
Everyone on the other hand,
agreed that regardless - Henry
has the shots and the right
attitude, “Don’t ever give up
on a golf course.”
