Elliott Norman As 1 look upon the clouds I see a world far, far away, yet its so close it reaches out and touches me. It touches my mind, my body, my heart, and the depths of my very soul. I can’t imagine the happiness this world possesses for it is something beyond ordinary man. This world which is beyond the grasp of ordinary man, brings tears to my eyes, because it offers “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Something which man has only dreamed of. THOUGHTS: I travel through your mind as if I were a celestial mutation Journeying from an astrological Dimension, Searching other Dimensions, extracting incompent and unsuitable mutations. I then prepare them for a situally spirited indoctrination. That will condition diem for survival in my Dimension. This preparatory conditioning stage is designed from remanents of ultra-violet, llluminous particles. Suspended and sustained within geographical convex’s, with unamaginally small terrain. Calvary To Celebrate 95th Anniversary The Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1252 Wrightsboro Rd., will hold its 95th Anniversary Service on Sunday, September 19 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. J.S. Wright of Macedonia Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. He will be “IRVIN” Continued from Page I head of the “Theatre of Reflection” film program at Benedict College. Miss Bowie in her role has a distinct advantage over the other actors in that most of her speaking is done as voice-over; her acting gestures are more natural when thus divorced from speech. Young, however, must struggle against the stilted language of his role as well as his theatrical tendencies. Only in his final speech before the closing of the ark’s door is his voice toned down somewhat (and covered by Irvin’s excellent music), making for one of the most touching moments in the show. The majority of Irvin’s other performers are amateurs from local churches and schools. For all their inexperience, some are very good, especially those who seem to have little concept for what “acting” is and just try to Homecoming Day Sunday, Sept. 12th at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. William R. London of New Orleans, La., will deliver the sermon. Rev. London is a former Pastor of St. Mark Church, resently he is the executive director of Peoples Community Center and minister of The Peoples United Methodist Church in New Orleans. He is a member of die Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and many other boards and agencies. Dinner will be served following the service. The Rev. Earl James is pastor. Ga. The program will be held in the Sanctuary of the church. The co-operation of all other area churches in this effort will be appreciated. through Friday, September 17th, beginning each evening at 7:45 p.m. Music will be rendered by various choirs of the city. <• Rev. Earl James is the pastor. accompanied by his church choirs. As part of the 95th anniversary celebration, the combined choirs of Mt. Calvary will present a pre-fall musical to be held on Friday evening, September 17 at 8 p.m. be themselves. Realism is not the sole criterion for evaluating television acting, but if the video medium is chosen, the camera’s properties should be used to the greatest advantage Fortunately, the director trie: to keep the camera at : distance to compensate so some of the shortcomings o the actors. Irvin was also wis to use the stark, simple set! Although their simplicit might focus more attention o the actors, their abstrar expressionistic quality mak< the exaggerated acting moi acceptable. Despite its problems “Sist Sarah’s Diary” has son exceptional moments, usual when the actors offhanded deliver their lines as peo; : would do in real conversatic Noah's closing speech and mr t of Sarah’s diary scenes are ve > nice indeed. Irvin's forte in t e production is his fine musi il compositions. Not only did e compose the varied mucic a d two lyrics, but he also plaj d most of the instrume is himself. Irvin is to comment d for his supervision of the act al production; he has conque d most of the technical orobk is that beleaguer beginn s. Though not a total succ is, Irvin’s gallant first effort is encouraging. It is as good as (or better than) most of the other local ETV productions. Educat ion-wise, “Sister Sarah's Diary” is certainly an interesting and practical alternative to the traditional written research thesis. A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THINS TO WASTE.
