"That’s It"
By Rev. Elliott S. Norman
Each day the number of
wrongs I do you increases. Yet
you continue to love and
comfort me. I treat you as my
slave, and expect you to do all
things in the manner I
prescribe. I neglect you for the
materialistic things in life,
never realizing that they are
temporary whereas your love is
everlasting. Still you shower
me with Love and comfort
me...
I know 1 don't deserve your
love, nor do I make many
attempts to “Thank You"! On
the few attempts I do make, I
am never fully sincere. Even as
I make this small atempt to
praise you, Beelzebub
threatens.
You are truly merciful and
have everlasting forgiveness.
For though I continue to do
you wrong, you allow me to be

Notice Os Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City
Council of Augusta in Room 803, Augusta-R i chinond County Municipal
Building, at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 2, 1976, for the purpose
of considering an amendment to an approved application pursuant to
the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended (GA-03-0004) ,
generally described as follows:
-Replacement of three 45 passenger, 35 foot diesel
buses (budget item 10.01.55) in the approved project
budget with three small buses with a capacity of 23-26
passengers.
-Increase project budget for line item 10.01.55
from $1,468,001 to $1,732,569.
The purpose of this proposed amendment is to update the application to
account for the effect of inflation on the cost of transit vehicles
since the project budget was developed in 1973. This is to be accom
plished by substituting three less expensive vehicles (currently about
$70,000 per unit) for three of the 45 foot vehicles (currently about
$90,000 per unit) and increasing the budget for the remaining vehicles
to be purchased. Funding of the incremental cost resulting from this
contract amendment will be 80 percent federal, 10 percent state and
10 percent local. Local funds will k e taken from the general funds
of the City of Augusta.
The proposed amendment to the approved applicc ion will not result in
any adverse social, economic, or environmental impacts. No relocation
will be required as a result of the project. The elderly and physit. 1
handicapped will be offered the same fare reductions on these vehicle”-
that are in effect on the remainder of the transit system.
At the hearing, the City Council of Augusta will afford an opportunity
for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the
social, economic, or environmental aspects of the project. Interested
persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations
with respect to said project.
A copy of the application to amend the approved Federal Grant for the
proposed project, together with an environmental analysis and the
transit development plan for the area, is currently available for
public inspection at the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission,
525 Telfair Street, Augusta, Georgia.
