“Grow in grace../”
II Peter 3:18
I - JFe Feel To Grow! It is
said aptly that when we are
ripe, we are rotten. No one is
fully grown until we have
reached the stature of the
fullness of our life “in God.”
II - (Ve Need To Be
Gracious. Evil and disgruntled
people are... whether they
know it or not., possessed by
some devil spirit. It costs
nothing to be gracious, to be
able to say “Thank you” and
“Please”. We may even chastise
another with gracious good
will. Only in this way is it
effective.
111 - JPe Need God’s Grace.
We cannot “make it on our
own.” Only God’s help,
Paine College Lions
Clawed Past Clark, 81-77
Paine had to/plav hard and
careful to win from the Methodist
lads from Clark College
Atlanta. In the last 10 minutes
of the close victory over the
Clark’s Panthers 81-77, Paine
elected to play it slow and
easy. It was the first time Paine
Coach Ernest Tolbert has
beaten Clark in 10 years at
Paine. The local school’s record
was 0-14 prior to Monday
night’s game here in Augusta.
Paine held a 44-34 lead at
the intermission. The Lions
maintained that lead most of
the second hjilf. With about
three minutes to play Paine led
76-66, after the Lions were
perfectly controling a
slowdown game for over ten
minutes. Then the Clark
Panthers made their move.

Youth
Basketball
YBA Basketball is a new
program developed by the
members of the national
Basketball Players Association
and the YMCA for Youth, age
10 to 17, will be offered at the
Southside YM-YWCA,
announced Henry Phinizy,
Senior Program Director.
“YBA basketball is an
entirely new concept in Youth
basketball and has been in the
developmental stage for more
than two years. Players will
wear team uniforms, have a
national YBA registration card
and receive complete coaching
on basketball skills at all levels
of competition,” said Henry
Phinizy.
YBA basketball will be more
than just a game, however. All
training materials for players,
parents and coaches stress
values development with an
effort to improve the quality
of human life.
Since basketball was
invented by the YMCA, it’s
only natural that the “Y”
participate in its development
and we think the new YBA
program is the finest
adaptation yet conceived. The
values and human goals of the
program together with its
development of sports skills
will make YBA basketball a
dynamic force for youth
participation.
Registration will be the
week of Jan. 10th. Any youth
interested in playing basketball
for the “Y” can sign up at the
Southside YM-YWCA.

“The solution for these

“Simply eliminate the

open their doors to all
Americans.”

Prayer Poem
I need thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.
Refrain-
1 need thee, 0 I need thee,
Every hour I need thee;
0 bless me now my Savior.
I Come to thee.
Amen
(Hymn written by Annie
Sherwood Hawks in 1872; the
refrain was written the same
year by Robert Lowry.)

Plain facts
about beef
• Shoppers have confidence in beef graded by the U.S. Gov't.
• The higher the grade the more tender the beef.
• The highest grades are U.S.D.A. Choice and Prime.
• The overwhelming shoppers favorite is U.S.D.A. Choice.
• U.S.D.A. Choice beef is flavorful and Naturally Tender,
• Pantry Pride sells U.S.D.A. Choice beef... exclusively.
• Not all beef is graded by the government.
• Some stores sell beef that is not government graded.
• Some stores add artificial tenderizers to their beef.

gave Coxon another chance. He
made it and the bonus throw
that went with it. That gave
Paine a 78-75 lead with only

Paine’s last points. Williams hit
