“Teach, us to number our
days.”
Psalm 90:12
I - 4s U'e Grow Older, He
Begin To Count... One of the
characteristic experiences of
late or “middle age” is that we
are not so eager for tomorrow
or for next week to come The
reasoning is obvious: It seems
to count against our uncertain
number of remaining days.
II - Enjoy I'lach Day! This is
but another way of saying
make each day by our making
TODAY - and every “today” --
the very best day of our life.
111 - Numbering Our Days
Makes Us H ise... The psalmist
says here “So teach us to
number our days that we may
apply our hearts unto
wisdom”. Those who respect
the fact that each day is an
important element in our
growth “unto the full measure
of Christ”. When we are in
union (or “with”) Him,

Prayer Poem
In 1906, the English
poet-philosopher Gilbert Keith
Chesterton wrote these pithy
words about how we might
number, or build with, our
days - He wrote:
Erom all that terror teaches.
From lies of tongue and pen,
From all the easy speeches
that comfort cruel men,
From sale and profanation
Os honor, and the sword,
From sleep and from
damn ation,
Deliver us, Good Lord!
Number our days means
“Getting Right With God”... in
our homes, with our families...
and in our Church. Are you
supporting your house of
worship? Have you talked with
your minister recently about
your needs?
Georgia, the workshop is under
the direction of Dr.
Muhammed Owais, assistant
professor of physics at the
college.
The workshop is open to the
public at no charge. Persons
wishing to participate may call

among us all.”
“I said that a President may
sense and proclaim that new
spirit, but only people may
provide it,” declared Mr.
Carter.
“National Brotherhood
Week gives all of us a useful
opportunity to marshall this
new spirit in communities
across America,” he continued.
“It unites us in a traditional
rededication to the moral
values and principles on which
our nation was founded. It
calls upon us to work together
to build a better life not just
for now but for future
generations.”
Mr. Carter said that he
“wholeheartedly” applauded
the “initiative" of the NCCJ
sponsoring and making
Brotherhood Week “a part of
its year-round programming
that affects the well-being of
countless fellow citizens."
“I ask all Americans to join
with the NCCJ in celebrating
this Forty-fourth Brotherhood
Week and in giving active and
positive expression to the
proud heritage we share as full
participants in a democratic
society.”
