Panthers again
junior high
champions
Once again the Panthers of
A.R. Johnson Junior High
School are the football
champions of Richmond
County. Johnson,
co-champions with Murphy
Junior High in 1975, hasn’t
been sole champions since
1972.
Since the inter-athletic
association for junior high
schools was first organized in
1955, Johnson has held more
championships than any other
junior high in Richmond
County. The Panthers were
undefeated this year.
Coach James Hill says that
the most exciting moment of
the season occurred during
Johnson's Homecoming game
against Langford when Frank
Clark (14) threw a 45-50 yard
pass to Willie Joe Willingham
(30) who ran it for a
touchdown.
Johnson’s leading scorer for
the 1975 season was Eric
Dukes, who made seven
touchdowns. Other
outstanding offensive players t
were Leon Booker, four
touchdowns; Tony White,»
three touchdowns; and David
Middleton, two touchdowns.
Outstanding defensive
players were John Chester,
leading tackler, and Eddie
Jones and Moses Lewis.
