acquires
two buses
The Augusta Black Festival,
Inc. was the successful
low-bidder for two buses
recently auctioned by the
Richmond County Board of
Education.
Maxine Lanham,
co-ordinator for the Festival,
indicated that the board of
directors intends to use the
buses for various Festival
activities and to make them
available to churches and civic
groups at a very low cost.
The buses are not serviceable
at this time; however, it is the
Festival’s hope to generate
revenues to overhaul and paint
the buses in the near future,
she said.
The Festival welcomes
donations from any segment of
the community to support this
project.
