"Just and true are your ways. "—Revelation 15:3
1. The ways of God a
right. To be “just” means to
be right. A ledger sheet is
“justified” when it is brought
into balance. A plumb line
is “just" when the balance
line stands still. Hence, no
doubt, God says to us, “Be
still; and know that I am
God.” God wants our lives
to be just, that is, exactly true
and as precisely right as His
own most just life.
2. The ways of God are
true. God is truth. Only in
Him does all life, all reality
have its being. Whatever is

The power and righteous
ness (or rightness) of God are
reflected in the memorable
words of the hymn or prayer
poem, “God the Omnipo
tent” written in part by
Henry F. Chorley. The Eng

quently, verses 3 and 4 were
added by the famous clergy
man and hymnwriter John
Ellerton in 1870.
God the Omnipotent! King
who ordainst
Thunder thy clarion, the
lightning thy sword;
Show forth thy pity on high
where thou reignest:
Give to us peace in our time,
O Lord.

hath forsaken
Thy ways all holy, and
slighted thy word;

Science brothers so aptly
remind us, is not reality. It is
only the seeming and is not
the true.

This is what a song popular
some 30 years ago admon

in all around we see, but the
God who changes not reflects
reality. Our life, to be pro

and center in the God whose
ways are “just and true.”
