defibrillators, electrosurgery units, physiological
amphlifiers, patient selectors, storage display and numerical
display.
DESIGN ENGINEER
B.S. in Architectural Design, or equivalent experience.
Experience in the areas of architectural design, drafting and
specifications. Some supervision of outside contractors
required.
TRADES HELPER
Graduation from a standard high school. Experience in the
operation, maintenance and servicing of high pressure steam
boilers, air conditioning units or related equipment.
REGISTERED NURSE
A wonderful opportunity for a registered nurse to expand
her/his role. The Department of Plastic Surgery is looking
for a RN with three years clinical experience, who is
self-motivated, curious, able to teach and to establish a
good rapport with patients, family and medical staff. For

Dr. Sharon R. Tolbert has
been named vice president for
Institutional Planning and
Development at Edward Waters
Mini Theatre presents ‘Wizard of Oz 9
Augusta Mini Theatre will
present “The Wizard of Oz”,
the first play of the season,
Oct. 13 and 14, at Tubman
Junior High School
Auditorium, 1740 Walton Way.
The play, presented for the
second consecutive year, will
start Saturday at 8:15 p.m. and
Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
The role of Dorothy will be
played by Judith Simon, a
1977 graduate of Lucy Laney
High School and a 1979
graduate of Augusta Tech. She

Cone announced.
Dr. Tolbert, who held the
same position at Paine College,
joined the administration in
late April.
She received a Ph.D. in
administration and policy
analysis, higher education, and
the M.A. degree in sociology
with emphasis on organization
theory and behavior, from
Stanford University.
She also holds a M.S. degree
from State University of New
York at Buffalo and an A.B.
degree from Canisius College.

“Mountain Yop Part I and II”,
“Rigoletto’ (Augusta Opera),
and many others.
Bobby McCarter who played
the Scarecrow the past season,
again will play that role.
McCarter, a 1978 graduate of
Richmond Academy, has
appeared in “Mountain Top
Part I and II”, “Soul Gone
Home”, “Inca of Perusalem”,
and “Raisin In The Sun.”
Naima Welcher will play
Toto. Lydia Glover, a 1979
Last summer, Tolbert attended
a six-week management
development program for
college and university
administrators at Harvard
University.
Dr. Tolbert worked as senior
program associate for planning
and management at the
Institute for Services to
Education (ISE) in
Washington, D.C., where she
assisted Board members,
college presidents, and faculty
in developing and
implementing models of
academic planning. She was
graduate of Butler High School
will make her debut in the role
of the Tin Woodsman.
George Leverett, a senior at
Richmond Academy will
appear as the Cowardly Lion.
Leverette has appeared in “To
Remind America of the Fierce
Urgency of Now”, A Tribute
to Dr. Martin Luther King, and
“Mountain Top Part II”.
Selena Wade will return to
portray the Wicked Witch. She
is a graduate of the New York
City High School of Music and
Arts. Ms. Wade has appeared in
“Mountain Top Part II”, “The
Way We Met”, and “Mclntosh
Sisters”. She is the Piano
Instructor and Chorus
Directress for the Theatre.
Daryll Perkins, a freshman at
T.W. Josey, has been cast in
the role of Oz. Perkins was
leads children in exercise during recent Open House and
PTA meeting. Mrs. Wilhemenia Sanders is the director.

professional work experience
at ISE, Dr. Tolbert has worked
at the National Institute of
Education (NIE) in
Washington, D.C. Here, as an
education policy fellow, she
was assistant to the Chief of

governing commission
appointed by the President of

Virwarner Tiller, a sophmore
at Lucy Laney High School,
will return as one of the
Guardians of the Gates. She
has appeared in “To Remind
America of the Fierce Urgency
of Now”, and narrated
“Mountain Top Part II”.
Michael Broussard, a
freshman at Glenn Hills, will be
one of the Guardians of the
Gates. He recently appeared in
“Supermarket Blues.”
Glinda the Good Witch will
be played by Cheryl Martin, a
sophmore at Aquinas. She
made her acting debut in
“Mclntosh Sisters”.

Adriena Martin will debut as
Aunt Em. She is an eighth
grader at Immaculate
Conception.
The China Princess will be*i
played by Patonia Robinson,
and Munchkins by Kwesi and
Kwane Welcher, students at
Monte Sano Elementary
School.
Dolores Williams, who was
recently seen in “Mclntosh
Sisters”, will play the Winged
Donkey. She is a member of
the choral group and a modern
dancer for the Theatre.
The Fighting Trees will be
played by Derrick and Sonya
Patterson and Tammy Mosley
of the Drama I Class. Members
of the Modem Dance I Class
will also be seen as the Trees.
The Poppies are Kirshana
Welcher, Causandra Broussard,
Monica Bonner and other
members from the Ballet I
Class.
