Mini Theatre starts fundraising
Augusta Mini Theatre, Inc.
will kick-off its fundraising
drive Saturday 4 p.m. at T.W.
Josey Stadium. This year’s
drive consists of four major
events as well as other
activities.
The drive starts with “Fun
Day 1980” at T.W. Josey
Stadium with a softball game
between the Mini Theatre and
Super Jocks. Following the
games, there will be track
events such as 50 and 100 yard
dashes, a bicycle race (must
bring own bicycle) and a

Fraternity gives scholarships
to area high school seniors
Psi Omega Chapter of
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
recently awarded academic
scholarships to four Augusta
area high school seniors.
Recipients of SSOO academic
scholarships were: Mark
Jenkins (Josey), Sebastin
Curtis (Butler), Jerome A.
Smith (Richmond Academy),
and Jeffrey L. Hampton
(Laney).
Mark Jenkins, valedictorian
at T.W. Josey High School,
plans to attend Brown
University, majoring in
biomedical engineering and
surgery.
Sebastin Curtis, a Butler
High School senior, will
matriculate at North Carolina
Central University, where he
plans to major in business.
Jerome A. Smith, a senior at
Richmond Academy, plans to
attend North Georgia Military
College, majoring in law and
politics.
Jeffrey L. Hampton, a Lucy
Laney High School senior, will
attend Morehouse College,
where he will major in
mechanical engineering.
