greats to first-rate
performances by contemporary
all-stars like George Benson,
Stevie Wonder and Carmen
Mcßae. Oscar Brown, Jr. -
singer, songwriter, playwright,
producer - hosts this blend of
black music and history.
BEAN SPROUTS celebrates
the heritage and cultures of
Chinese American youngsters.
Tills grassroots production
involves residents of San
Francisco’s Chinatown.
IN VEGETABLE SOUP 11,
kids of many different ethnic
and cultural backgrounds -
Cuban, Japanese, Black, Anglo
and Chinese - fine a multitude
of entertaining ways to leam
how to be friends. Geared
towards the interests of
elementary school-aged
children, the programs use
folktales, recipes, children’s
art, poetry and dramatization
to make dieir point. Singer
Bette Midler and actor James
Earl Jones lend their voices to
animate character on this
series.
Wallace library
makes changes
in schedule
The beginning of the new
school year has brought some
changes in the daily schedule at
the Wallace Branch of the
Augusta Regional Library,
1237 Laney-Walker Boulevard.
After Friday, August 29, the
free films will no longer be
shown each afternoon at 2:30.
The 11 a.in. Pre-School
Story Hour has been resumed
each weekday, in addition to
the daily Pre-School Story
Hour at 10:30 a.m.
