Three Richmond
County School system
administrators recently
received post-graduate
degrees at Georgia
Southern College.
Mrs. Winnette W.
Bradley, principal at Sand
Bar Ferry Elementary
School, Mrs. Vivian C.
Pennamon, principal at
Jenkins Elementary School;
and Thomas J. Bennett Jr.,
assistant principal at 'Butler
High School, received the
education specialist degree.
Ms. Gordon
Is Band
Director
Mary Gordon, Music
specialist at Barton Chapel
Elementary School was
recently named band
director of Richmond
County Elementary Schools.
In her new position she
well service 12 schools,
teaching band.
A 1974 graduate of
Albany State College, she
has worked at Barton
Chapel for the last five
years. Prior to coming to
Richmond County she
worked in Douglas, Ga., as
a music specialist.
Ms. Gordon is a
member of the Georgia
Association of Educators,
the National Education
Ms. Mary Gordon
Association, the Richmond
County Association of
Educatior, the Music
Educators National
Conference, and the
National Association of Jazz
Educators.
She is a member of the
Zion Baptist Church, in
Millen. Ga. She is also
affiliated with the Augusta
News-Review.
Nurses Attend Boule
Severs of Phi Chi
Augusta Chapter of Chi Eta
Phi Severity, Inc., along
with seres from Columbus
and Atlanta recently
attended the 49th annual
Boule at the New Orleans
Hilton in New Orleans, La.
Approximately 385
sorors were registered for
this event. Those in
attendance from Phi Chi
Chapter were Sorors: Annie
Goode, Edna Upshaw,
Betty Stokes, and Ann
Robinson.
Among the highlights
of the public banquet,
awards were given to
chapters in recognition for
achievements in community
service projects and to the
chapter reporting the
highest number of new
members. The sorority
