Group observes Shiloh tutorial program
The Shiloh Com

Center recently welcomed
visitors during the Satur
day tutorial program to
tour the campus.
The visitors consisted
of several third graders
from the Abilene Baptist

Sealed blds for “STORM AND SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CHAFFEE
AVENUE/DRUID PARK AVENUE AREA: PHASE I CDBG B-82-MC-13-0003/82-8“, will
be received by the Mayor and Clerk of Council of the City of Augusta, Georgia until 12
O'CLOCK NOON on JULY 21,1983 in room 806 of the City-Council Municipal Building.
At that time and place the sealed bids shall be quickly opened and read aloud for furnishing
all materials, labor, machinery, tools, etc. necessary for all work involved in the improvements
of storm and sanitary sewers.
The project shall be performed all In accordance with the plans and specifications prepared
by James G. Swift & Associates, Inc. for the Community Development Department.
Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bld Bond In an amount of five percent
(5%) of the total bld price. No bld may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after
closing time scheduled for receipt of blds.
Plans and specifications for bidding purposes may be obtained at the office of James G.
Swift & Associates, Inc., 2801 Wllco Ave., Augusta, Georgia, upon payment of seventy-five
and 00/100 dollars ($75.00) for each set (non-refundable).

Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Clear Air Act as amended,
regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency as amended, Section 3 of the Housing
and Urban Development Act of 1968 as amended, the Federal Labor Standards Provisions
and Executive Order 11246 as amended.
The City reserves all right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all formalities.

Humanitarian of the
Year and recipient of the
1983 Jefferson Award.
The children showed a
great interest in what
Mrs. Crawford is doing.
Afterwards, a party was
given. This also con
cluded the fifth year of
tutoring at the center.

The Augusta Red
Cross will be offering a
course in babysitting
beginning June 27 though
June 30, from 9:30 a.m.
to noon each day.
All class sessions will
be held at the Chapter
Office, 81 l-12th St.
Some of the topics that
will be covered in the
course include: babysit
ting responsibilities,
growth and development
characteristics of
children, basic care of
different aged children,
accident prevention, and
emergency actions.
The minimum age for
participation is 11 years,
with advanced
