In what has to be con
sidered one of the most
adventurous and
historically significant
cultural and religious ex
changes between Israel
and the United States,
Barry White, Andrae
Crouch, the Rev. James
Cleveland, the Southern
California Community
Choir and Shirley Caesar
will headline the “One
Nation Under God, First
Annual Gospel Festival”
at the Sultan’s Pool in
Jerusalem.
The Holy Land
Pilgrimage Foundation, a
division of Unitours, Inc.
one of the world’s largest
and most prominent
tourism agencies in con
junction with the Inter
national Entertainment
and Cultural Group, a
group of professional in
ternational entrepreneurs
based in New York, Los
Angeles, Chicago and
Tel-Aviv are hosting the
festival and the specially
priced eight day tour of
Israel.
The idea for the
festival was launched
last November —after

that the package is being
marketed throughout the
U.S. with brochures

80 churches in 11 major
cities. Tour organizers
anticipate that some
1,500 participants will
embark on the pilgrimage
when it leaves, beginning
August 13-17 from
various cities.

this year, the Justice
Department filed suit to

promotions to Blacks.
This case is still pending
in federal court.
