Commentary
by Norma Miller
Depression is the
feeling of many people in
this day and time. Life
looks dim, the feelings of
insecurity and loneliness
are all that seem to rest
on the mind, nobody can
help and nobody cares.
But that’s when God’s
grace is best appreciated.
Yes someone does care.
If there has ever been a
group of people com
bined to exhibit feelings
of interest and loving
care for humanity, the
Salvation Army has a
program that is designed
to help the needy, and
it often goes beyond tne
call of duty.
The Salvation Army’s
policy is to give shelter
and food to the homeless
and the hungry tor a
limited two days unless
through some other local
organization they’ll work
hand and hand to make
arrangements for a
longer (or extended)
period of time.
The public needs to
know what this
organization does on a.
daily basis for the heart
and spirit of those people
in need of spiritual help.
I wrote this article in
hope that the Salvation
Army will become an
even more recognized
organization, with strong
community support.
Sapp Jr. and New Zion
Hill Missionary Baptist
Church will be in charge.
The Rev. M. C. Adams is
the pastor. The public is
invited to attend.
