According to founder and general chairman of the event, Charles Evers, since the first “Homecoming” in 1973, more than 450,000 people have participated in the annual presentation. This year, however, with the promotional sponsorship of the Adolph Coors Company, Evers announced he is expecting to surpass an earlier estimate of 60,000. The play is performed every ten years, but an exception is being made this year in order to celebrate the 250th an niversary of the play’s presentation. The talent show will feature Richmond Coun ty Sheriff Charles Web ster, Teddy Black, direc tor at WRDW Radio, Oscar Brown, claims examiner with the Augusta Unemployment office, Dee Davis of Augusta College, Edythe Dimond, executive direc tor of the Bethlehem Community Center, Joan Harrell, news reporter with WRDW-TV, and City Council members Willie Mays, and Jimmy Murray. Also, appearing are Andrea O’Shea of WZZW Radio, State Rep. George Brown, Henry Brigham of the Richmond County Board of Education, Greg Peterson of WAGT Television, Earnestine Harris, director of Paine College Upward Bound Program, and Cecelia Johnson, director of he s got a hot one for the summer, Sidney is just beginnig to film “Shootout’’ which features a multi-ethnic group of eight singers and dancers who are trained (are you ready) for ballet... Well, Mr. P and his dancers are in one big hall, and Mr. J and his group are in another way at the other end of this huge building. Question: Who is going to come to who?? Does Mr. P go to Mr. J or vice versa? Like does the mountain go to Moham med or vice cersa? Betcha can’t figure out what happened...and was vir tually repeated again when Travolta and his group hired another hall at another enck of the building. Go on, take your best guess.
