The choir is under the direction of Michael Lewis of Louisville, Ga. The Rev. Albert M. James is the pastor. Tabernacle troop honored Boy Scout Troop 504, sponsored by Tabernacle Baptist Church, was honored with a trophy recently from the Augusta Jaycees. The troop was awarded the Family reunion The Burton Family Reunion will be held in Philadelphia, PA, July 7. A bus for relatives will leave Augusta July 6 and return July 8. The son of Mr. Arthur Mattison, 115 Vista Drive, Clemson, S.C., he was one of more than 220 persons to receive degrees in the schools of theology, religious education and church music. Fred Pryor, a 1960 graduate of Southern Seminary and founder of Fred Pryor Seminars, Inc., Shawnee Mission, Kansas, delivered the commencement address. Founded in 1859, Southern Seminary is the largest independent college or graduate school in Kentucky, with an annual enrollment of more than 2,500 students. Roy L. Honeycutt is the seminary’s eighth president. The new seminary graduate holds a previous degree from Paine College.
