NEW ROCHELLE, NY—The
new fall (Sept. 26) series of
ABC— TV network’s “Dynasty,”
could very well change the com
plexion of the major roles of prime
and day time soaps in the television
neighborhoods.
With lovely and talented
Diahann Canoil having already
made her impact and an eye-world
earingly awaiting the debut of
handsome actor Billy Dee Williams
to join her, the TV soap whirl is
expecting a clean Nielsen sweep.
Thanks to Joseph E. Seagrams

ageless susperstar, his Lordship of

the new cast members of ABC’s hit
sudser. In the small and beautiful
Principality as host and defending
champion of the annual Princess
Grace Tennis Tournament, to
benefit the foundation in her
name, he welcomed the oppor
tunity to voice his personal opinion
about the new cast members.
In a voice which moved my
number one girl’s heart into her
ears, he said; “Diahann Carroll is
a most beautiful, talented and
viberant actress. She cannot help
but add to the lure of “Dynasty.”
Billy Dee Williams is an out

By now We were on the first

say he was proud of his association
with Black actors. One of which
goes back to the late, great Canada.
Lee whom he said, “was a
magnificant actor.”
“There is a scarcity of parts for
Blacks and other, so termed, ethn
ic Americans, and that’s a
problem,” said the “Dynasty”
master of the realm. One which he
does not see being solved within
the forseeable future.
When asked if he thought it
would be feasible for parts to be
written in a raceless manner. The
answer was, “Yes, but that it
would be hard to do.” However
fli
Billy Dee Williams
when asked would he welcome
plays dealing with the total
American mix, he said he would
and said that young writiers should
address their talents to that in a
drive to add a newness to the
theatre and its spinoffs.
He further revealedd that “Dyn
asty” has made other progressive
steps before Ms. Carroll and Mr.
Williams. On board are two Black
directors and an off set staff of
Americans from different racial
backgrounds.
Both Sidney Poitier and Bill
Cosby, who usually participate in
the Monaco Tournament had to
beg off because of film and TV
chores in Hollywood and New
York City. The affair added to the
worldwide thrust of the Foun
dation to continue aiding under-
priviliged children.

Snubbed, Black women form lobby
by Sandra Crockett
(Chicago Defender)
Because Black women were
ignored at the Democratic
National Convention in San Fran
cisco, several have formed their
own political lobbying group, a
prominent Black femal leader said.
“The National Black Women’s
Political Caucus was started
because of three reasons,” said C,
Delores Tucker. “We were ex
cluded fromt he vice-presidential
search, although there were some
outstanding Black women leaders
to choose from.
“White women received theii*

Finally, the major reason that
minorities and the disadvantaged

Club Out House allowed all of

upon them Just think! No cooks,
no caddies, no maids, no drivers!
For shame!
Surely, one does not expect a
Member of Club Out House to do
things, such as finding bathroom
tissue, for himself. Heaven, for
bid! Mr. X-Slax also pointed
out that these servants would be
deprived of a chance to boast that
they have caddied, waited on, or
even come into contact with the
excremental members of the club.
Pardon me, did I say “excremental
members”? I am so sorry. I
meant to say elite members (wanna
bet?).
Well, after Mass X-Slax ex
plained these things to me, I now
understand. I now know what the

The National Black Women’s
Political Caucus is a bipartisan
organization that intends to
educate Black women about how
to get involved in the political
process and use it to their advan
tage, according to a written
statement from the group.
“We will also encourage voter
registration.” Tucker said, “One
thing that is very unique about our
organization isithatwe will endorse
political candidates, then raise
money to support them.”
Tucker stated, “The
organization’s desire is to reach
young Black college women,
housewives and everyone” about
the need to get involved in he
political process.
