The gospel for changing times
The Bible is the only Book, the
only creed. Preaching rises or falls
on the Bible. One cannot claim to
know that Jesus died for the sins of
the world without this Book.
The Sermon on the Mount is in
this Book. We learn about heaven
and hell in this Book. If you reject
this Book, you reject Christ (II
John 9). Some preachers preach
everything but this Book. They
preach philosophy, theology,
psychology, mama-ology, papa
ology and so-called reverendology.
Shakespeare and Tennyson are
certified in poetry. Handel and
Mendelssohn are certified in
music. Plato and Socrates are cer

Wright brothers are certified in in
ventions. Washington, Lincoln
and Kennedy are certified in
politics. Dr. Martin Luther King is
certified in civil rights. But the
Bible is the certified creed in the
matters of religion.

Services held for
Diana Ross mother
DETROIT A private funeral
was held last week for Ernestine
Ross Jordan, mother of singer
Diana Ross.
Jordan, 68, died of cancer at
her suburban Southfield home. A
service was held last Wednesday at
St. Andrew’s Catholic Church at
Wayne State University. Burial
was in Woodland Cemetery,
Detroit.
Mrs. Jordan was the yongest of
12 children of the Rev. and Mrs.
William Moten. She married Fred
Earl Ross in 1942, but they later
divorced and she married John
Jordan in 1977.
In addition to her husband and
Diana, Jordan is survived by two
other daughters, Dr. Barbara Lee
and Marguerita Ross; three sons,
Fred, Arthur and Wilbert; four
sisters, a brother and 13 gran
dchildren.
In a 1973 interview with the
Detroit Free Press, Jordan recalled
that Diana’s rise to fame with the
old Motown label took her family
out of a housing project and “put
a little money in our pockets.”

4:11).
The Certified Gospel is written
in the Book. And many other signs
truly did Jesus in the presence of
his disciples, which are not written
in this book: But these are written,
that ve might believe that Jesus is
the Christan, the Son of God:and
that believing ye might have life
through his name. (John
20:30,31).
The apostle Paul talks further
about this Certified Gospel being
written in the Book. If ye have
heard of the dispensation of the
grace of God which is given me to
you-ward, How that my revelation
he made known unto me
the mystery; (as I wrote afore in a
few words) Whereby, when ye
read, ye may understand my
knowledge in the mystery of
Christ. Which is other ages was not
made known unto the sons of men,
as it is now revealed unto his holy
apostles and prophets by the spirit.
(Ephesians 3:2-5).
The Bible is the oflly book that
should direct us in the matters of
religion. I am so glad that we
don’t have to depend upon what
grandmom said, or what
somebody dreamed; this Certified
Gospel is written in the certified
creedm, the Holy Bible.
The Church was first of all in the
mind of God. “To the intent that
now unto the principalities and
powers in heavenly places might be
known by the church the manifold
wisdom of God. According to the
eternal purpose which he pur
posed in Christ Jesus our Lord”
(Ephesians 3:10, 11). The church is
certified in prophecy.
Isaiah and Zachariah wrote that
the church would start in the city
of Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:2;
Zachariah 1:16). Joie wrote that
the church would start in the last
days (Joel 2:28). Daniel wrote
about the starting time and the
duration of the church (Daniel
2:44). This church was certified in
prophecy.
