The Cedartown Cotton Oil Com pany is rapidly putting the finishing touches on its splendid new plant. They bought their first cottonseed Tuesday, paying Mr. Mark Corne lius $11 per ton for same. Mr. Henry Stewart, Of Cave Spring, was in the city Friday. He is a genial member of the hustling firm of'Stewart & White, who will open up a new store here in the building about to be erected by Messrs. Davis, Siins and Sanders. Mr. Thos. M. Hightower has leased the We3t & Jones gin, and is making extensive improvements. He hopes to have it .ready by the first of next week, and asks the farmers of this vicinity to give him a call, guaranteeing them fair and square treatment. Rev. C. O’N. Martindale will be absent, in Atlanta on next Sabbath, and there will accordingly be no preaching here in the Presbyterian church on that day, but he will be back in time to hold prayer-meeting on Wednesday night at 7.45 o’clock. The improvements consist of one two-story, ten-room dwelling, covered with slate and in good repair; one-cis tern, one well and house, one smoke house, one wheat granary, one three room cottage, one poultry house, etc., enclosed and occupying about two acres of land, and at a convenient dis tance from which there are two two- story bar ns, stables and sheds com- jned, one small barn and twelve (12) covered cattle sR? on said premises, for tenants, two fou room cottages, four three-room cot tages and one two-room cottage; also five wells and two springs in conven lent distance from the next above also sundry barns, stables, etc. Sold for the purpose of distribution to the heirs of said deceased and for payment of debts.
