SUMMER’S
TERROR —a
It isn't the discomfort from
heat. It is the danger to your
children from bowel disorders
induced by eating unripe (ruit
or drinking iced water. For
that matter, children are not
the only ones who suffer.
To check summer complaint
and diarrhoea use Curry’s
Diarrhoea and Dysentery Spe
cific. It is agreeably spiced
and prompt in effect. It’s
strong enough for grown folks,
but not so ugly that you have
to bribe a child to take it.
Price, 25 Cents.

How Mnyne Held Won Ilia Drldc.
It was through his novel, “Tho Scalp
Hunters,” that Captain Mnyne Reid
won a bride. He was 30* years old
when he met a damsel of 13, with
whom he at once fell In love. Tbe
child took no notice of him, but he
gave her the story to read, as effective
a manner of courting in this nineteenth
century ns ever was Othello’s In an
earlier one. Two years later tho young
lady was at a public meeting where
Captain Reid spoke on behalf of the
Polish refugees. “An electric thrill
seemed to pass through mo as he en
tered the room,” she said afterward,
and when the meeting was over she
went up to him. “I leave for London
on the next train,” he said hurriedly.
“Please send mo your address.”
“I do not know where,” she replied
with some embarrassment. He in
stantly handed out his card nnd was
gone. A formal little note followed:
“Dear Captain Reid—As you asked me
to send you my address, I do so.” By
return of post came the answer: “Only
say that you love me nnd I will bo
with you at once,” and then tho reply,
“I think I do love you.”

Every woman In the country
ought to know about
iMeer’s Friend
Those who do know about it
wonder how they ever got along
without it. It has robbed child
birth of its terrors for many a
young wife. It has preserved her
girlish figure and saverl her much
suffering. It is an external lini
ment and carries with it therefore,
absolutely no danger of upsetting
the system as drugs taken intern
ally are apt to do. It is to be
rubbed into the abdomen to soften
and strengthen the muscles which
are to bear the strain. This means
much less pain. It also prevents
morning sickness and all of the
other discomforts of pregnancy.
A druggist of Macon, Ga., says:
“I have sold a large quantity of
Mother’s Friend and nave never
known an instance 5\hero it has
failed to produce the good results
claimed for it.”
