Company “D,” formed in Cedartown,
of Polk county boys, was a gallant
band of bravo soldiers, and only a very
few have survived the vicissitudes of
war and the passing years. Survivors
of that oompany met yesterday a num
ber of their old comrades at the big re-
union, and rehearsed the stories of
their war experiences.
HISTORY OF COMPANY.
This company was made up of Polk
county boys, and was organized by
Capt. Stephen A. Borders. T. J.
Verdery was 1st Lieut., B. A. Atwood
2d Lieut., and John L. Branch 8d

Now, notwithstanding much outdoor
life, they are little if any stronger than
they were. The tan on their faces is
darker and makes them look healthier,

1st. That petitioners deBire for them
selves, their associates, successors and
assigns to become incorporated under
tho name and style of
Alabama and Georgia Iron Company,
and under said corporate name to do
business, sue and bo sued, to purohase,
hold, sell and dispose of real estate and
personal property, and to do all corpor
ate acts.
2d. The term for whioh petitioners
ask to bo incorporated is Twenty Years,
with the privilege of renewal at the end
of that time.
fid. The principal office and place of
business of the proposed corporation
shall be in the oity of Cedartown, in
said state and county, but they deBire
the privilege of doing business iu the
lines for whioh they are incorporated at
suoh other points,and to establish offices
at such other points within this state or
in any other state or country, as they
may deem best for the interest of said
corporation.
4th. More than Ten Per Cent, of tho
capital stock, hereinafter referred to,
has already been actually paid in.
5th. Tho total authorized capital
stock of this corporation is to be One
Million Throe Hundred Thousand Dol
lars, (411,800,000.00,) divided into Thir
teen Thousand Shares of the par value
of One Hundred Dollars, ($100.00) per
share. Of said stock Six Hundred and
Fifty Thousand Dollars, ($050,000.00,)
or Six Thousand Five Hundred (0,500)
shares, shall be General or Common
Stock, and Six Hundred and Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($050,000 00) or Six
Thousand Five Hundred (0,500) shares,
shall be Preferred Stock.
The Preferred Stock shall roeoivedivi
dends at the rato of. and not exceeding,
Seven Per Cent, per annum, such divi
dends payable quarter-yearly, on the
first days of February, May, August and
November of each year. Hindi dividends
shall be cumulative, and if the profits
of any one year declarable as dividends
shall not Insufficient to pay such divi
dends tor such year upon said Pre
torred Stock, the same shall be made up
from the profits of a later period, until
the full amount of dividends specified,
without interest, shall have been paid
upon the Preferred Stock, before any
dividend is declared on the Common
Stock.

and prepare for market ore, metal, and
mineral substances of all kinds, and to
carry on other operations whioh may
seem conducive to tho corporation’s ob
jects; to buy, sell, manufacture, and
‘deal in minerals, plant, machinery, im
plements, conveniences, provisions,and
thing* capable of being used in con
nection with mining and manufactur
ing operations, including merchandise
or other supplies required by workmen
or others employed by the corporation;
to construct, carry out, maintain, ini
pt ove, manage, work, control any roads,
ways, bridges,
