TO CURE INDIGESTION.
The first thing to do in case of in
digestion or stomach weakness is to
strengthen the muscular walls of the
stomach and intestines, so that they
will digest without distress the food
that is eaten. This can best be done
by taking Mi-o-na tablets before each
meal, which will restore strength to
the stomach muscles and stimulate the
secretion of gastric Juices so that the
food will digest readily and its nour
ishment be retained in the stomach
to build up energy and vitality.
Use Mi-o-na and you will have no
more sick headache, heartburn, bad
taste in the mouth, coated tongue,
specks before the eyes, sleeplessness
or other symptoms that come from in
digestion. With every 50-cent box of

“My dear old mother, who is now'
eighty three years old, thrives on
Electric Bitters,” writes W. B. Brun
son, of Dublin, Ga. “She has taken
them for about tw f o years and enjoys
an excellent appetite, feels strong and

Bitters affect the aged, and the same
happy results follow in all cases of fe

pneumonia and chronic catarrh have
their origin in a common cold. Con
sumption is not caused by a cold
but the cold prepares the system for
the reception and development of the
germs that would not otherwise have
found lodgment. It is the same with
all infectious diseases. Diphtheria,
scarlet fever, measles and whooping
cough are much are much likely to be
contracted when the child has a cold.
You will see from this that more real
danger lurks in a cold than in any
other of the common ailments. The
easiest and quickest way to cure a
cold is to take Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy. The many remarkable cures
effected by this preparation have
made it a staple article of trade over
a large part of the world. For sale

“LEST WE FORGET.”
Ben. F. Perry, In Cherokee Advance.
Thursday of last week we went
over to Cedartown and would have.
spent the greater part of the day in
that growing, enterprising little city
had not the Seaboard been nearly l’.mr
hours late. However, we were there ,
long enough to be thoroughly impress-1
ed with the progressive spirit that !
dominates and permeates the people, |
seemingly every one of. the citizens j
of Polk county, and to be convinced
that Cedartown is growing solidly,
substantially, and is destined to be,
and now is, one of the best of Geor
gia’s smaller cities—a close and fast
rival of Rome, northwest Georgia's
metropolis. Cedartown Is no longer
a town—a score of years have
wrought marvelous changes there-
and the suggestion to change the
name to Cedarton is good.
Cedartown has about 6,000 popu
lation, with splendid railroad facili
ties and rates, and has just organiz
ed. another bank, the Farmers and
Mechanics, and last Thursday com
pleted the organization of The Geor
gia Fire Insurance Co., with a capi
tal of $100,000 paid in, that will # at
once rank with larger and older com
panies. Besides these two very im
portant enterprises, Cedartown has
two other banks, cotton mills, large
furnace, and numerous smaller man
ufacturing plants, bes!d s wholesale
and retail business that would do
credit to cities much larger, ami a
newspaper, The Standard, the equal of
any in Georgia, under the manage
ment of Russell & Coleman for near
ly 20 years, which has been a leader in
the development and growth of all
that section.
Added to Cedartown’s many other
advantages, she has several churches
and a public school system that has
done and 1h doing much towards giv
ing the citizens and patrons advant
ages equal to the best of city schools,
and which Is doing much towards the
permanent healthful growth of the
city. A Cherokee boy is principal
of the boys’ high school, Prof. Sim
Smith. We were glad to hear
many good things said of him and
his work by the people of Cedartown.
But Cedartown and Polk county folks
seem partial to the name of Cherokee
and wo are not at all surprised they
should think so much of Prof. Smith
The organization of the new bank
and the Georgia Fire Insurance Co.,
Is drawing into their active manage
ment both Russell and Coleman
Tho Cedartown Standard, but they
promise their patrons and readers that
The Standard shall be kept up to its
standard of excellence. And we do
not doubt it,for a live newspaper man
can do the work of a half-dozen men
and still have time to get up a col
umn or so of the “Man about Town”
notes. E. B. Russell is cashier of the
new bank,and W. S. Coleman is sec
retary of the Georgia Fire Insurance
Co. If there was a probability of
Georgia journalism losing these two
versatile writers and all round clever
gentlemen, the Georgia Press would
at once call an emergency session and
demand the severance of their con
nection with other enterprises, but
we are assured the Fourth Estate will
ever remain their first love and claim
their best efforts and slucerest de
votion, and so the little recreation
they may get out of other things,
with possibly better remuneration, Is
gladly granted them with the earnest
hope that they may each richly suc
ceed in all their laudable undertak
ings and In which they so much de
serve to succeed.
While at Cedartown It was our
pleasure to be entertained, with oth
ers, at a splendid barbecue at the
lovely ’cue grounds two miles out of
Cedartown on the farm of Dr. Lid
dell. And at supper we enjoyed dining
1th Editor and Mrs. W.S. Coleman at
the Right House. During the after
noon we were driven over a portion
of the city by Editor E. B. Russell,
and, all in all, were dee-lighted with
our visit to Cedartown and the con
genial companionship of those whom
we met and with whom we were as
sociated in a business way.
Not only at Cedartown, but from
Cherokee to Polk -at home and a-
broad—evidences cf thrift, prosperity
and enterprise are seen. The towns
are growing, the country Is Improving
and the peoople generally appear pros
perous, .happy and hopeful. Good
crops are rewarding the faithful hus
bandman, there are no idlers and “the
laborer Is worthy his hire.” While
