day, Oct 14th.
And if you are not registered, you
will miss the opportunity to help
yourself and your town by voting for
bonds.
The City Council at its regular ses
sion Tuesday evening unanimously
voted for an issue of $163,000 bonds
for school, street and sewerage pur
poses, the election to be held Tuesday,
Nov. 8th.
. The Council also took the impor
tant step of selecting a Bond Com
mission, taking one representative
from each ward and two from the
city at large. The selections made
are most ercellent, and are as fol
lows: 1st Ward—-C. C. Bunn; 2d
—A. C. Fulmer; 3d —C. 1. Scar
brough; 4th—It O. Pitts; fit!.—W. F.
Barron; At Large—A. E. Young and
L. S. Ledbetter. If anything were
needed to add to the enthusiasm of
our people for the bond issue, the
personnel of this Commission would
insure it.
There has never been anything in
Cedartown’s history as important as
this bond issue.
As a matter of fact, the city
“could not travel” without it in view
of the obligations assumed in accord
ance with the petition for tho exten
sion of our city limits and which was
signed by practically all of our voters.
With this bond issue we can meet
these obligations, givo the cast and
south parts of the city the sewerage
demanded, build a school in West
End and add to the one in East Ce
dartown, and do some greatly needed
street work in all parts of the city.
These bonds means continued pro
gress without increased taxation.
Let us put them over enthusiasti
cally and unanimously.
