BUTLER by Lynette James Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Dean spent the week end in Nor- cross with relatives. Bill Gibson, Buddy Hobbs, Errol Burdeshaw, Billy Gray and Jimmy Bone spent the week end in Panama City, Florida. Mr. Malcolm M. Marchman attended the funeral of his uncle in Springfield during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Locke visited Mr. and Mrs. Sam Freeman in Oxford, Alabama, over the week end. Little Carol Freeman returned to Butler with her grandparents for a visit. Jimmy Locke leaves Saturday for the Air Force. Mrs. Eppie Arnold has re turned home from a visit with her sister in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Jones of Talbotton and Miss Carolyn Bazemore of Atlanta were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bazemore. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Under wood enjoyed members of their family and friends visiting with them on Wednesday. Shortly after 7 p. m., a delightful sup per was served to 32 guests in their home. Mrs. Cecil Montgomery and Deboran andMrs.GradyGassett spent last weekend in Valdosta visiting Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Alligood. Deborah also visited Debbie Roark. Lt. Sonya E. Reddick of Ft. Lenwood, Mo., and AlanLaubs- cher are spending the week here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. J. Allen Payne had as their dinner guests on Sun. Adams Jr. have returned to Atlanta to resume their school duties. Mrs. Adams attends Ga. State and Rev. Adams attends Emory. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Austin Guinn spent the weekend at Lake Sin clair. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mar tin and Tommie of Macon spent Sun. with Mr. and Mrs. Larry McKinney and family in their new home in Chamblee. Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Martin are spending the week in Macon and Warner Robins. The children of Mrs. Perry Parks honored her on her birth day Sun. with a family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Cul pepper of St. Mary’s, Georgia, were in Reynolds, Friday, en- route to Macon where Rebecca will enroll as a freshman this year. The many friends of Mrs. L. B. Stickland will be happy to know she has recovered suf ficiently from her recent Illness to return to her home, after having been in the hospital for several days. Mr. and Mrs. George Stakel of Macon were the recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Suggs. Miss Clara Whiteside of Chester, S. C., spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Swearingen and Robert Swearingen. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Schwalm of Cleveland, Ohio, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Goddard last week. Mr. William Fickling Sr. of Macon was in Reynolds last Friday visiting his mother, Mrs. G. W. Fickling. Miss Amelia Fletcher spent the week-end in Jackson, Ga. with her mother, Mrs. Van Fletcher, who is recovering satisfactorily from recent sur gery. Mr. and Mrs. George A. God dard were in Warm Springs for medical treatment last week. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M. Harris of Covington were the week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Parks and family. ALLEN Miss Patricia Ann Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ran Cooper, became the bride of J. Bruce Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Levy Allen of Met- ter. The ceremony was per formed at the First Methodist Church in Butler in the pre sence of the families and close friends. Rev. John McGowan officiated at the double ring ceremony. Ray Bowen of Metter served as best man and the ushers were Robert David Cooper, brother of the bride, and Bus- sey Hamrrack. were guests of Mrs. Beulah El- liston over the weekend. Mrs. Don Barnes served as her sister’s matron of honor and the bridesmaids were Miss Gloria Cooper, sister of the bride and Miss Martha Allen, sister of the groom, of Metter. They were gowned alike in sheaths of blue organza and taf feta with detachable overskirts. The bodice was trimmed with Chantilly lace and featured square necklines and short sleeves. The overskirt was accented by a bustle bow at the back and they wore matching accessories and blue hats of roses and forget-me-nots with shot pouf veils. Brick Barnes, nephew of the. bride, carried the rings on a heart shaped pillow of satin bro- The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a bridal gown of white satin peatl de soie and hand clipped Chantil ly lace. It featured a fitted bodice with a scalloped Sabrina neckline outlined with lace and reembroidered with seed pearls and sequins. The bouffant skirt featured trailing lace designs on either side and in the back with the lace sprinkled with pearls and sequins. The panel in back extended into a full chapel train. She wore a veil of silk French illusion held by a double orange blossom crown. The mother of the bride chose a dress of fawn lace with match ing accessories. Mrs. Allen wore pink lace with black accessories.
