The Taylor County (Ga.) News, Friday, October 12, 1962 Political Announcement Dear Voter: On October 16 the new 17th Senatorial District of Georgia will select a Senator. This district consists of Schley, Ma rion, Macon, Taylor, Talbot, Harris and Upson Counties. A group of outstanding people from each of these counties, included among them some seven or eight prospective candidates, have approached me and requested that I offer as a candidate for this new senatori al post.
