WALNUT MUFFINS
cupa sifted enriched self- 1 cup milk
rising flour
tablespoons sugar
cup chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons melted shorten
ing or oil
12 walnut halves
1 egg, beaten
Sift together flour and sugar. Stir in chopped walnuts. Com
bine egg, milk and shortening or oil. Add liquid to flour mix
ture, stirring only until flour Is moistened. Fill greased muffin
cups % full. Place walnut half on top of each. Bake in hot oven
(425°F.) about 20 minutes.

In Home Ceremony, July 26
TOP TEAM—The Dodgers, sponsored by the Reynolds
Standard Oil Service Station which is owned and operated
by Jack Heath, are presently in first place in Little League
play in Reynolds. This group of boys have played hard and
proudly display their uniforms they got new this summer.
Playing with the Dodgers this season are: Edward Arnold,
Johnny McRee, Wayne Mclnvale, Wayne Duncan, Fred Duncan,
Chuck Byrd, Jimmy Childre, Billy Bell, Larry Hinton and
Gary Payne. News on the other teams will be brought to you
through the next few weeks as the season nears an end as
well as the final winners.

Revival Planned
At Midway Church
Homecoming Day has been
set for Sunday, August 11,
at Midway Baptist Cljurch.
Services will begin at il o’
clock with lunch at the noon
hour and singing through the
afternoon.
The annual series of re
vival services will begin
Monday night at 8 p. m.
with a service each night
through Friday. The Rev.
H. E. Whitley, pastor of the
church, will deliver the
messages.

devotional. Mrs. Elizabeth
W. Cooper showed a film on
carpets and rugs with a
4-H Club girl, Linda Wads
worth, giving a talk on a 30-
minute breakfast.
Purvis Is Home;
Completes Basic
Pvt. John Purvis, son of Mr.
and Mrs. C. E. Purvis of Char
ing, is visiting his parents on
a 14 day furlough, after having
completed, his basic training
at Ft. Jackson, S. C.
A 1963 graduate of Butler
High School, Purvis entered
the armed services soon after
graduation. His next assign
ment will be at Fort Haliberd,
Maryland, where he will at
tend counter intelligence school
for eight weeks.
Bush Sr. of Barnesville.
The improvised altar before
the mantel was accented by a
large mirror. A center ar
rangement of white glads, tube
roses and mums was flanked by
crystal candelabra holding
burning tapers.
Lon S. Bush served as his
brother’s best man.
Miss Barbara Ann Allen was
the maid of honor. She wore
pink silk tulle over pink em
broidered taffeta with a sleeve
less bodice, rounded neckline
and full skirt. Accessories
were white and she wore a
corsage of white carnations.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a street
• length sheath of baby blue silk
brocade. The fitted bodice of
silk tulle over brocade featur
ed three quarter sleeves. A
matching hat of blue with seed
pearls and matching shoes com
pleted her ensemble. She car
ried a Bible covered in white
satin and lace topped with
an orchid surrounded by
Frenched carnations.
Mrs. Bridges chose a pink
and white eyelet with white
accessories and a corsage of
white carnations. Mrs. Bush
wore a beige brocade cotton
with matching accessories and
yellow carnations.
Following their wedding trip,
Mr. and Mrs. Bush will reside
in Decatur.

Family convened at the Butler
Community House on Sunday,
August 4, for their annual re
union, with 86 family members
present. There were 17 visitors
attending, making a total of 103
