Dr. Middleton Visits McDougald
The R. L. McDougald High
School was very proud to have
had Dr. John A. Middleton,
president of Morris Brown Col
lege to share several hours with
us on Monday, November 6,
1967.
It is our intent and purpose
to recognize, from time to time,
the efforts of those persons
who have distinguished them
selves among men, and who
have achieved dignity and
equality in American life. Such
is true with Dr. Middleton. He
is a profound educator who has
enjoyed many accomplish
ments.
Our seniors had the opportu
nity to listen to our dis
tinguished guest explore the
subject “The Need of a Trained
Mind”. He believes that boys
and girls should have the best
possible education in the world.
Dr. Middleton was very im
pressed with our program and
students here at McDougald. He
was so impressed that he made
it known that many scholarships
through Ford Foundation and
other sources were available
for top flight students. He
also offered for educational
