Taylor County High School Class Of 2020 To Graduate Saturday
After the COVJD-19 pandemic shredded graduation plans for the Taylor County High School Class of2020, school administrators and staff scrambled to find ways to recognize and
honor the outstanding Class of2020. School Superintendent Jennifer Albritton noted, "We have made every effort to consider the need for safety, the desire for family presence and
student camaraderie.” Graduation will be held May 23 rd, with the first students and guests arriving at the seniorposhing lot at 8:50 ami. The ceremony will be conducted as follows:
“Each seni&r is allowed 4 guests in a car (including the driver). Graduates will receive an appointed time to arrive in the senior parking lot* Graduates will arrive in numbers of 20
and participate in the ceremony with 10 students at a time. The process will continue until all seniors have participated in the ceremony. Each graduate will be provided a face mask
and must wear it at all times, except for the brief time photograph# are taken. Graduates and guests will arrive in the seniorparking lot and wait for directions to move in a procession
and stop in front of the middle f high school. Guests remain in cars while students exit cars forming a socially distanced processional and move to the stage in front of the Carter-
Troutman gym l auditorium. As each student is called on stage to receive his/her diploma, the graduate’s guests will be allowed to pull down in front of the stagey exit the car, and
remain standing by the car. Guests will be allowed to take pictures, and a photographer will he available. When this is finished, guests will return to the car and pull to a designated
area to wait for their graduate. Graduates will come down from the state and wait until all 10 in the group have received diplomas. Then, they will participate in the changing of
the tassels and throwing of their graduation caps in the air. Each graduate will be. escorted back to his/her car, and cars will exit toward East Main St A The ceremony will be live-
streamed, and portions of the traditional graduation ceremony will be recorded at a separate time and will be part of the video. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will
be held on May 24th. Oak St., front E. Main St. to Edgewood Dr., and Mulberry St., up to Laurel St., will be closed during the ceremony. 2020 Taylor County High School Candidates

Weapons Carry License
The Georgia Judicial State of Emergency and
the Probate Judges Council of Georgia deemed
Weapons Carry License a non-essential task of the
Probate courts and suspended this service. This
service is now available, and Judge Renfroe states
that the Probate Court is ready to take applica
tions for Weapons Carry License and all renew
als.
Please contact the Probate Court at 478-862-3357
to schedule an appointment and/or get instruc
tions to fill out renewal request online. There
also has been an extension on expiration dates
for renewal of weapons carry license during this
Judicial State of Emergency that will have an im
pact on some renewal requests.

NOTICE TO ALL CITIZENS
Due to graduation, please be aware that Oak
Street, from E. Main to Edgewood Drive, will
be closed to thru traffic on Saturday, May
23rd, from 8:00 a.m. until late evening. Mul
berry Street up to Laurel Street will also be
closed during this time.

officially named a Doctor of
Medicine. Tipp completed
his doctorate in December
2019 and his degree was
awarded at that time; how
ever, he was officially hon
ored in this graduation cer
emony. Tipp is the son of
Tom and Natalie Callier of
Butler, and grandson of
Janice Davis Brewer and the
late Floyd Aaron Brewer, of

Veterans To
Register
Memorial Day is an official
United States federal holiday
that honors people who have
served in the U.S, Armed
Forces, also known as veterans*
The Taylor County Clerk of Su
perior Court Lisa McDonald is
encouraging all veterans of" all
military branches of service to
make sure their DD-214 is re
corded at the courthouse* Your
DD-214 should have been re
corded at the Lime of the ser
vice member’s discharge from
the military,
Mrs. McDonald stated, ‘I have
discovered that many veterans
do not know about this service
and did not have their DD-214
recorded. Although veterans
