Road in Taylor County for the last 10 years. We. along with our children, have enjoyed living
and serving in this community We are so thankful to call this place home. Our children are

in the Navy, LiNa Beth (10), and Kate (4)
A question I keep hearing on the campaign trail is "Why are you running?" For me. it
comes down to one simple thing. I am running for School Board because 1 believe that
education is directly tied to the strength of our community, investing in our children now, means
a vibrant future for all of Taylor County. To provide every child with the education they
deserve several things must take place,
1. We must have a vision,
2. We must create structures to support that vision
3. We must always be accountable to the public.
We must also advocate for our students at every opportunity, all while keeping a focus on our
budget and the policies that our district enacts.
I am so grateful for the education that I received in public schools and for the adults who took
an interest in me and tny success I want that for every child, and ! look forward to working with
others in Taylor County who share those same goals
I ask for your vote in the ongoing Republican Primary in Taylor County’s District 5.

RUSSELL
SCHOOL BOARD
DISTRICT 4
To the Voters of District 4:
My name is Russell Pounds, and I am seeking the office of School
Board Member for DISTRICT 4, Board of Education.
I would first like to thank Mr. Sandy Harris for his 28 years of
service on the School Board for District 4. His dedication to the
education of our children is deeply appreciated.
I am honored to have the opportunity to ask for your vote to
serve on this Board and play a role in shaping the issues to main
taining and building the highest quality education for our children,
As a lifelong resident of the county, I am a graduate of Taylor
County High, as is my wife, Michelle Bone Pounds. Two of our
sons, Rus and Jake, have also graduated from Taylor County, and
our son, Levi, is currently in high school.
As a former County Commissioner and a small business owner,
I understand the importance of every tax dollar, and I pledge to be
a good steward of your tax dollars that are spent educating your
children.
My goal is to make our School System a place where all our
children can succeed and reach their goals. I pledge to be proac
tive on all issues concerning the School System in pursuit of that
goal.
As we move forward in these especially trying times, I would
like to assure everyone in District 4 that I will be a conscientious
representative of your interests on the Board. Just as when I served
as County Commissioner, I will have an open door policy, making
myself available to the voters of District 4 and all the voters of Tay
lor County.
Dedicated and dependable are the words which I live by, and I
stand by them in everything I do.
Since I will not be able to visit each voter because of the pan
demic, please use this letter as my request for your support and
vote.
Thank You,
Russell Pounds
