2021 TCHS Homecoming Queen Court
The 2021 Taylor County High School Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime of
Friday night's Homecoming game against Manchester. The Homecoming Court represen

2021 TCHS Homecoming King Candidates
The 2021 Homecoming King will be crowned during the Homecoming Pep Rally Friday.
The pep rally begins at 2 p.m. Homecoming King candidates (l-r) are: Seniors, Rett
Harris, Jarell Brown, Nickloas Woodard, Turner Lay field, and Austin Coker.
It’s Homecoming Week At
Taylor County High School
Nov, 1-5 is Homecoming Week
at Taylor County High School,
with plenty of excitement and
activities.
A Car Smash was held after
school on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd,
from 4-5:30 p.m.
The annual Powder Puff foot
ball game will be held Thurs
day, Nov. 4th, at 6 p.m., at Vi
king Stadium
Friday, Nov. 5th, the Home
coming Pep Rally will be held
at 2 p.m. The 2021 Homecom
ing King will be crowned dur
ing this event. Seniors vying
for the crown are: Jarell
Brown, Austin Coker, Rett
Harris, Turner Lay field, and
Nickloas Woodard,
The Homecoming Game will
also be Friday, Nov, 5th, begin
ning at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings
will take on the Manchester
Blue Devils. During halftime,
one of the follow ing senior la

9th grade on the court. Repre

will represent 11th grade,
The week will culminate with
the 2021 Homecoming Dance,
to be held Saturday, Nov, 7th,
from 8 to 10 p.m,, in the high
school cafcteria.
Spirit Days are being Held
every day this week. Monday
was Generation Day. Seniors
dressed as senior citizens, jun
iors as parents, sophomores as
tweens, and freshmen as ba
bies. Tuesday was Versus Day,
such as Cowboys vs. Aliens,
Heroes vs. Villains. Wednes
day was Celebrity Day, fol
lowed by Mourning Day on
Thursday, and Friday is Spirit
Day.
There is a lot going on at your
alma mater this week, and you
can be part of the festivities by
“returning home" for the
Homecoming Game Friday
night!
Public Meetings Set For Regional
Transportation Sales Tax Project List
The Executive Committee of
the River Valley Regional
IVansportation Roundtable has
set a series of public meetings
to allow 7 for review of the Draft
Constrained Investment List
for the following counties, com-
prising a special district for
continuation of a regional
transportation sales and use
tax: Chattahoochee, Clay,
Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon,
Marion, Muscogee, Quitman,
Randolph, Schley, Stewart,
Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, and
Webster. The 10 year TLA fore
cast by the state economist
projects $564M in funding for
transportation projects in the
region from 2023 to 2032.
The Transportation Invest
ment Act of 2010 is a law pre
scribing the process to call for
a regional sales tax referendum
for transportation projects. The
regional tran spoliation sales
tax process is a mechanism for
voters in the region to enact a
ten-year 1% sales tax for trans
portation projects like road
maintenance, road construc
tion, bridge, safety, transit,
aviation, bicycle, and pedes
trian projects. The renewal pro
cess began in early 2019 when
counties within the River Val
ley region authorized initiation
of the renewal process for a re
gional transportation sales and
use tax. River Valley was one
of 3 regions in the state to ap
prove a regional transportation
sales tax in 2012.
Over the past 18 months, the
Executive Committee met sev
eral times to consider which of
232 regional-impact projects
nominated by the local govern
ments to include in the final In
vestment List. Ultimately, 46
