Ty’Mira Chatmon Crowned 2021 TCHS Homecoming Queen
And Austin Coker Is Homecoming King
Ty’Mira Chatmon was crowned the 2021 Tctylor County High School Homecoming Queen during Halftime of the Taylor Co. vs, Manchester Homecoming Football Game Friday night.
Ty’Mira is the daughter of Adrian Chatmon and Sandra Russell. She was crowned by the 2020 TCHS Homecoming Queen Brenley Hinton. First runner-up was Madison Green,

Friday, and Austin Coker was crowned the 2021 Taylor County High School Homecoming King. He is the son of Ashley and Tiffany Coker and is pictured (right) with his mom.
Commissioners Vote Down Door-To-Door Trash Collection

Last Tuesday night, the Tay
lor County Board of Commis
sioners met for the November
regular meeting,
TC Environmental Services
offered a proposal to the Com
missioners for door-to-door
trash collection in the county.
The company proposes $37.84
per month, per residence for
trash carts and $194.85 per
month, per dumpster.
Chairman Randy Nelson ex
plained that this company
charges other count ies between
$19 and $20 per cart, per
month, and the higher rate for
Taylor County was discussed.
Nelson said, “This price is ri
diculous. I say we 'kill the bill.”’
The Board unanimously voted
not to accept the proposal, and
door-to-door trash collection is
no longer on the table, at this
time.

portation Roundtable has met,
and a list of TIA (Transporta
tion Investment Act) Projects,
funded through the regional
TSPLOST (Transportation
Special Purpose Local Option
Sales TaxJ, has been deter
mined for the region. Each
county in the region received a
project, this time. The
TSPLOST will appear on the
ballot on May 24, 2022. Public
hearings are scheduled for Nov.
15 in Cuthbert, Nov. 16 in
Montezuma, and Nov 18 in Co-

Taylor Made Fall Festival Drew Large Crowd Saturday
The Taylor County Chamber of Commerce presented the 2021 Taylor Made Fall Festival Saturday at the Taylor County Recreation Department in Butler. A large crowd turned out
to enjoy a crisp day of fun. Windy conditions kept the hot air balloons away, but there were exciting activities in abundance to entertain everyone, including arts and crafts and food
