Taylor County FFA Members Attend
95th Georgia FFA State Convention
Members of the Taylor County FFA Chapter attended the 95th Georgia FFA State Con
vention on April 27-29, 2023, which was held at the Macon Centreplex/Coliseum. Mem
bers participated in the annual Living to Serve community service project, where along
with three other FFA chapters* members helped to bring new life into a home by painting
its exterior: While in attendance, members were able to participate in the Convention
Career and Trade Show and visit with various representatives from colleges, businesses,
and organizations, to gain more information about potential opportunities. Four chapter
members participated in the State FFA Degree Ceremony, The State FFA Degree is the
highest degree that the Georgia FFA Association can bestow upon its members. Georgia
was proud to award 760 State Degrees to deserving FFA members. The State FFA Degree
recipients included Alanna Keith, Andy Peek, Kelsie Williams, and Elizabeth Dingier.
Members also served as delegates and helped by electing the 2023-2024 State FFA Officer
team. The students who attended include Elizabeth Dingier, Amberlynn Hernandez, Alanna
jKeith, Hannah Lawson, Andy Peek, Larow Singletary, Kayle Wainwright, and Kelsie
Williams. The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of
America, changed its name in 1988 to reflect the growth and diversity of agriculture.
There are nearly 860,000 FFA members nationwide. The Georgia Association has more
than 80,000 members, making it the third largest Association in the nation. FFA makes
a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier lead
ership, personal growth, and career success, through agricultural education,
