Tho 8th. inst. Mrs. Hannah Mur¬
ray, wife of Thomas Murray, died at
Ayersville very suddenly. She was
well in the morning, and was engaged
in work as usual; when sitting down
at the breakfast table she foil over
and immediately expired; the cause
is thought to be heart disease. She
leaves a husband and four children, to
whom tho News extends earnest
sympathies.
Tom Soseby who was mentioned
in last weeks News as being captured
by the Revenue officers. As soon as
he was released from jail, eatne home
placed another still in the same fur¬
nace, scraped up the beer from the
ground and was boiling away when
Deputy Collector Alexander again
captured him. lie was left in charge
of Rich Hill while Mr. Alexander cut
up the still; but Tom gave Richard
leg bail, and we suppose he is looking
for another still.

A splendid entertaiment was given
on lust Friday eve. ing by the Corne >

“Among tho Breakers.”
The music was exceedingly fine,
the speaking and acting good, re¬
flecting great credit on the players

interesting entertainment crowded
out this issue, will appear next week.

ow space in your paper to acknowl¬
edge our thanks, and show in some
measure that we, as a Band appreci¬
ate ihe efforts of tlie ladies and gen¬
tlemen who so kindly assisted us in
our entertainment. To say we ap¬
preciate their kindness and trouble is
rathei a meager expression, and we
hope they will accept our heartfelt
thanks for services rendered, and we
alse extend our hand to the gener¬
ous public who showed by their at¬
tendance that our efforts were ap¬
preciated. Ver} truly

TALLULAH FALLS.
Tallulah is on a boom now*. All
hotels full and people still coining.
One of the most attractive things
at the Falls is a large swimming pool
just completed by Col. Young. I
would advise all pleasure seekers to
see his pool and take a game of ten
pins, which will be ready to-dav.
There are near five hundred guest
here at present; the most
quiet set I ever saw, with the excep¬
tion of some of the boys shooting
down under the Falls which we hope
they will stop without further trouble,
\Ve are having some rain to-day;
if we co ild have some dry weather,
this season bi Is fair to excel all oth¬
ers at the Falls.
We have four merchants here; all
