Weather warm and somewhat
tnixed between clear and cloudy.
While at Tallulah on Monday last
we had the pleasure of seoing our
friend J. C. Cannon, on the streets
looking somewhat better, Wo also
had the pleasure of conversing with
his physician, Count Percy N. de Du-
Boeay, M. D. It will be remembered
at this time, that at the time of Mr.
Cannon’s attack,Dr.DuBoeay was&b
sent and remained so for some weeks.
In the course of conversation the
Count incidentally mentioned that
Mr, Cannon’s disease was a so called
vegetable fungus washed off of one of
the cardiac Valves, and this fungus
lodging in the radial artery, and
formed an obstruction by which the
hand and lower fore arm failed to re-
ceive the usual supply of blood
causing much inflamation and
mtr. The Dr. says that . . by judicious : „ (llpinn
"
^ ]1-t il circulation w jh
take place and the hand and arm be¬
come as useful as ever. The Doctor
further stated that if this plug had
been washed into a vessel of the brain
paralysis would certainly have occur¬
red,and in all probability death would
have been the result. Dr. DuBoeay
stated that Mr. Cannon could not be
woll for three weeks, but considers
his patient out of danger.
