a half million of dollars in advertis
ing has taught its projectors the
following truths That it pays to
advertise largely; that keeping
everlastingly at it-, brings success ;
that the so-called high priced med
iums are the cheapest in the end;
that the public is always ready to
respond to ah advertisement of
something that they want; that a
striking illustration is better than
text; that the less said the better;
and that “white space’’judiciously
used, is never wasted.

plenty of people who th.nk that the

cheaper than wheat at 50 cents a

It is an outrage the way the
cabanet officers treat the esteemed
Washington correspondent of the
Atlanta Constitution. He has an¬
nounced dozens and dozens of times
over through the medium of his pa
per that one or another of the
cabinet officers were on the eve of
tendering his resignation for al¬
leged difference of opjn ion between
President Cleveland and his cabi¬
net, and yet there has not been a
single resignation offered. There¬
fore when Congress re-convenes it
would be commendable in it to pass
a law compelling Cabanet officers
to resign when the aforesaid cor¬
respondent wires his paper that
they have contemplated doing so.

Advertise Toccoa.
Toccoa ought to be advertised
with Governor Northen. He can
do more good for Toccoa than any
other man in Georgia. It will cost
very little, compared to the good it
will undoubtedly do the town to
send him 5000 descriptive pam¬
phlets of Toccoa and surrounding
country. If we want a progres¬
sive town let us by all means do
this small thing to start the ball
rolling. YVe clip the following
from the Atlanta Journal:
Gov. Northen has gone to work
in earnest to settle desirable immi¬
grants in Georgia. He is prepar¬
ing to send a man through the west
to talk up Georgia and to tell the
dissatisfied farmers out there what
they can do in Georgia. He is al¬
so preparing to open an office in
New York, but he lyill be particu¬
lar to see that not a single immi¬
grant from Castle Garden will
brought by his instrumentality to
Georgia.
He has a representative in Illinois
who calls in person on the farmers
and tells them what is to be found
in Georgia instead of sending mat¬
ter to them through the mails.
Mr. Northen has received a
from a Pennsylvania physician
represents a colony of fifteen
mers, all of them desiring to
to Georgia. The physician
delighted with Georgia and
bring his colony here as soon as
can select * desirable place
them.
The doctor will practice his
fession while the families arfll
their attention to IfMlR

We think not.
We have been asked to present a
petition to Judge Hill and ask him
to advertise Habersham county
with the governor, which we will
surely do. Habersham needs mi¬
